Holy crap!! That's exactly what I have, the top is like a 1-1/2--2" wide that's great. I'll have to do a exact measurement and get some exact measurements from traxtech, which outfit do you believe has the best set up?? Traxtech, Cisco, thought there was a guy on here that does a great job!! Laker how did you fasten your uprights, just in the middle on each side of the up right. Right now I have made plates 1-1/2 and then made the plate to fit whatever the baseplate of what the rod holders were. This idea has left hip high pants pocket grabbers or bruised hips, plus black & blue belly marks, especially me as my meds have made a shed roof for my tools thank you for the pics!! I don't have a very good mind to picture an idea without making it them hold it there, then I know what I have to do to make it better or leave it alone. Thank you guys so much. Especially during this time of difficulty with my father in law passing on. This gives my mind something else to think about.... PAP, aka Mike.

Well, I never gave that a thought, I have glassed the free board by the shifter because I removed that padding shyt and that was fastened poorly from the factory. I guess the right word would be "gussets" I have glassed in from the shift lever to the transom to sturdy it up. Especially up near the front where I put my planer board trees at. I felt there was way to much flex and that really stiffened it up!! So your idea just might be the ticket. There is a really good machine shop litterly 1/2 mile from my house. I'm sure I could come up with something with that in mind. Maybe a 1" square up right with a 3/8 bolt through the center with a 3"T = a 3" platform?? The rod holders I just got from Bruce has a raised base or 2 heavy screws fasten it flush. Thanks guys really appreciate the great idea

Thanks Brian, this has been a tough one on the whole family, he nearly lived with us since his wife died, 7 years ago, the only thing he did was go to work, he had a Tri Axels. He was self employed for 45 years, still working with just his own truck. He told the 2 other guys he was going to just 1 truck for himself, and gave the guys a chance to own a truck if they wanted. One guy bought one outright the guy went elsewhere. After his day was in he came here every night for dinner, then watch TV. until 10: ish then went home and on weekends he had pulling tractors, if there was a pull he'd be there if not he came over here. My daughters were his everything, and they worshiped the ground he walked on. We let the girls stay home yesterday yet, but today I said it's time you get with your friends and forget about things for a while!! They did ok getting there as I took them. Thanks again PAP.

I'd like to hop on this thread also, I have a 82 Sea Ray cuddly with hydraulic assists 350merc I/0 with a alpha1 15hp 4 stroke merc with EZ Steer. Was wondering what my options were without doing a search, I'd like to hear what guys with hands on experience, I'm not interested in one that allows you to fish in 5 foot waves, 2+ I'm wrapping it up anyway, I can't physically take the beating either. Thanks for any help. PAP

Thanks Norm, I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Gonna miss my hunting buddy, for sure!! I know a lot of the properties he had permission to hunt the folks called to give their condolences, and said don't forget about your hunting spots. I have a permit to shoot from the vehicle, but I only ever did it once, I sit out side in a ground blind only because there's more room and can see 360. But very thankful for the permission to hunt!!!

Absolutely!!!! Congrats to her and you for being able to assist right away, my wife doesn't hunt, but at times that's a good thing

I just got started myself I'm still farting around on paper some times you can't do anything wrong the next time you can't even make uniform dots for crying out loud. Perseverance will prevail. I was told by one of the best in the business, he told me to get a iwata brush and I have a compressor in the garage so I ran a line a water separater and pressure gauge I mounted all that right in front sometimes you need to bump the pressure up to get better result, then back down to normal range. I use createx paints they are water clean up, and the have ever color and then some, wicked colors is in the wood pile with createx, look up that paint you won't be sorry,,

Hey Legacy last year in the late muzzle loader season I thought I put the smack down on a wide 6, I actually thought he was starting to go the other way, he looked like a old buck I laid the bead right behind the shoulder blade, my gun has a lot of work done to it it goes off fast, but not that day, I know the barrel rose up some and the buck fell like a rock, all the doe's stayed there, so I took my time to gather up my stuff, left the other deer just mozey off, only to find my buck took off unbeknown to me. I was like what the F happened this can't be. Luckily there was snow on the ground, I crawled on my hands and knees through the thickest scrub oaks I came to the unmaintained mountain rode, he was going down hill the hole time which was good, but at least a mile below my truck. It was getting dark when I got to the rode and there was still blood in his tracks, so I went across the road only 20 yards when I heard I jumped him, I went back up to the road and covered the red tracks. I knew the first road hunter would be on those tracks like a dog. So I made my way back to my truck mumbling under my breath, called my brother in law and at the break of dawn we started, being he didn't have a muzzle loader tag he couldn't help with a gun. Long story short 6 hrs later with blood splatter on the snow and another hunter shot my heart sank till we got up to him, I missed like hell but there was short brown hair we acted like we didn't see anything. The buck was still headed down hill to a creek many miles from where we started in the morning, let alone the area I fired the shot. I spotted the buck trying to make it up the other side of the stream it goes up hard, l went around on the rode and came in from the top, it was a power line and I knew he couldn't wind me while Rodney stayed where he was the deer kept looking our way until I split, I went along the top just so I could see down where he was I saw him still looking at Rodney, I rested my Cornstalker with a GreenMountain barrel in the crotch of the tree and redid the exact shot only this time old faithfully performed like she always did and I mad a perfect shot!! I heard Rodney hoot and we met at the deer, my original shot was way high, the bullet just nicked the shoulder blades but blew a big patch off the top of the shoulder area. I don't know if the deer really would have died if we wouldn't have persuaded the deer honestly. In the beginning I would of swore I put a much better hit on him and he went right down, plus the original tracks in the snow looked impressive, but the next day we were chasing just specs on the snow. So that's my story, so it's alright to feel that way that's how a hunter with ethics's is supposed to be, the other goons that have arrows sticking out of deer haven't any ethnics and those are the guys that make it bad for all of us. Get in that tree tomorrow and show me a big buck!! Buddy, PAP!!

You looking for lights for deck lights at night or driving lights predawn. Fishnut is 100%correct with the led lights. I wish I did it when I made my light bar up, but the price difference was the ultimate decision, but now it's a no brainer, matter of fact here in Pa tractor supply has major sale on outdoor led lights for off road equipment and vehicles. Very sturdy and adjustable brackets come with these lights, I'm going to switch out my deck lights and planer board lights my driving lights I'll keep because my main motor is running, while my deck and planerboard lights run off the batteries.

Wider gunnels As some of you know, I've had lots of time to think, I'm going to redo the floor on my boat, but one thing that really disappoints me about my boat is I don't have the fishing version of the Sea Ray. So my gunnel tops are only like 2-21/2 inches wide so all I mount on the gunnels I have to make brackets for, I was on Taco website thinking maybe they had a solution but nothing they have a rolled edge pieces of aluminum, and the tracks systems are drilled at 1-1/2"s apart with brackets to go underneath, but that's not going to work either. I have put supports under the gunnels to stop the flexing. I fiberglassed blocks underneath. The only thing I can come up with is to add either a 1 piece of 1-1/2 wood and fiberglass it to the inside of the gunnels or I saw on line where they used strips of 3/8" marine plywood to make up the difference but that was so they could follow a contours, I have straight shot about 6 ft. I was thinking to keep a tad lower and build it up with the matting and resins, but I'm going to have sand off the clear coat and paint on the inside edge, do you think I need to attach it to the topside of the gunnels also? I can't be the only person that bought a pleasure craft instead of a fishing boat with the wider gunnel tops. Appreciate any thoughts, PAP

Thank you guys, somehow everyday I think I have everything under control and I'm rock solid with it all and I'm going to do this or that, when all of a sudden, it's like someone kicks the stilts out from under me. I know I need to stay strong for my family, but sometimes I just can't do it. When my father passed I found refuge in the bottom of a Jim Beam bottle, almost lost my family, now I can't drink any thing anymore so I guess this is the real deal feelings you get when a love one passes. I really appreciate all the comments from the guys I deal with every day to those that comment just to show their compassion towards one losing a love one. What a great group of folks on LOU. I look forward to see who comments to this thread and you guys have not let me down one bit, as I suspected!!! Love you all PAP!!!

I have to agree with the Etech guys especially when it comes to weight!! My old Evenrude took a dump and fixing it was half the price of a 4 stroke I found on Craigslist, I found a 2007 tiller 15hp merc electric start, only ever used 3 times, and it looks it. 20" shaft that the guys son bought for river fishing after 3 times out they decided that they need a jet motor, so his kid bought a new 60-40 merc jets. His kid makes more money then he knows what to do with. I got him down to $650 no gas can. But I'm removing 78lbs and adding 115lbs. Another 37.lbs. Quite a bit more, I can't lift it I'm not supposed lift over 20lbs but I can do the Evinrude. Plus I added another bracket under the motor just to be safe, cause I'll have to trailer it areound the lake area.
