The only thing I do different is I use 1 gallon of water plus I add 1 gallon of apple cider. I use this same recipe on my smoked chickens plus I add Granny Smith apples to stuff the chickens cavity, adds some extra flavor. I use sassafras to smoke with, I only add smoke for an hour. Some recipes are a cold smoke where others use heat to get the job done!!

Was up a few weeks ago fished a bass turny, buddy of my uncle has a house on that lake, caught some dandy perch and some palm size pumpkin seeds. Congrats to your day Kevin and the future fisherman!!!

I asked the same question? I know they stock the ST. Lawrence, some are stocked my a private organization, some are state stocked. I know back in the 80's they used to stock the Black River Bay Area. I can't honestly answer you question do the stock LakeO. Even if they'd pull eyes out of Lake Onieda for good breeding purposes. The thing is with LakeO the king salmon trump all other species!! People come from all walks of life come to hook a King Salmon. Then there's the fish hatcheries that are full of silver fish as the kings are the absolute biggest money maker fish that swims LakeO. So there's no space to hatch the eyes. Plus they claim they don't want anymore predetors to eat up the fingerlins?? Yea I'd like a healthier population of eyes in the lake!! LakeO's silver brings NY gold!!

I don't buy that BS. The community free launches were open by then!! It doesn't matter anymore, as he's made the right decision and told them to pound sand and moved to another area that's been open since July!! Lazy money hungry, using the lake issues as a excuse to pocket his hard earned cash!!!

Let's not forget about Canada in this discussion, remember when we were trolling around in February in near 60* temps that went way up into Canada's snow belts also. I know guys that sled up around chaubugamoo, last year it sucked they said snow was mostly slush and trails washed out unfit to run $13000.00 machines on, so we can't over look that LakeO has a Canadian border also and that's a huge influence to the water level of the lake, plus their cities were under water till late in the season.

Any eyes dead on the beach is a crime in my eyes, (no pun intended) that's a total sin. The surface temps on our home lake is in the high 60's yet!! The long range forecast of the NE. Is very much above average through December!! Not good, plus 1-4"s of rain around here and LakeO is something we certainly don't need...!!!

X2, went from 7lbs bass, to selling lures to catch salmon

At the Black River Camp Grounds, Allen's docks are floating, problem is there's about 50' of water you need to cross to get to the docks, which he made a damn nice metal walkway. This year he had to get those concrete highway barrier to use as a support to put a at least 3 foot higher walkway out of aluminumm construction planks to get to our boats, other than in the spring it a haul to get to good fishing waters, Henderson. Which was azz hole deep to a 10ft Indian. I had chest waders on to get to the docks. Water was running through B&J bait shop. Something defiantly needs to be done. Also our camp was like a morgue this year. He has to raise prices to compensate for his cost. So like Les mentioned above, $hit flows down and we are all at the bottom, whether your a land owner, bait shop owner or a out of state fisherman like I, it effects us all!!!
