    Depending on where you are, it's not that far of a drive to Dexter to see if there're flopping around near the bridge, that will give you some Intel. On what's going on, very might be a early run this year. Everthing else was screwed up why not this yet!! Hope not for the guys waiting all years for this chance to hook a few.     If you out of Henderson and around association isl. alway check that 50' area we have pulled many of kings from that area headed towards the black river.

    Yea up in Quebec on the Ridue River guys used to come from Jersey with deep sea equipment while we were fish for eyes, they caught some dinosaurs. Nice catch!!

    I don't know about doing away with the Kings!! That would put a serious dampening in NY's revenue as that's all you hear about from the fisherman headed to your state for. It's not like Erie where you have the most sought after fish, walleyes, yes they are there to be caught and can be caught but not like Erie. The reason NY state has a multi billion$$$ fishery is because of the kings, look at the punch NY took when they did away with the snagging, if you get rid of the kings NY will be a ghost town!!

    Thank you luck13 I really enjoy fishing lakers and so do a lot of others. Plus they seem to be sucking up a lot of the gobies, the ones I opened up were stuffed full of those slimy buggers.

    We had the same nonsense for weather, hell it was 70 in Feb, just like up at LakeO when those guys were trolling for Browns!! Then it got blue a$$ cold down near O* when it was supposed to be spring with a few snow storms and the waters were so cold not all the eyes spawned yet by the opener. It amazed me it gave any type of tree fruits, nuts. This was/is one of the most wacky weather years I can remember!! I certainly hope this winter isn't as active with precipitation as this summers been.

    By all means if you can get out tomorrow, stay with them you got the hard part done!! Mines 12.3/4# 32" long. But that fish came out of Canada fly in trip 25+ years ago.

    You can have that combat trolling!! For every courteous person there's 10 aholes. Then you have the guys running 4,5 hundred coppers yet, even boards really put the squeeze on things sometimes. I guess that's why I fish the mid week times, if at all for kings.

    Yes I have to agree with ya there, being I'm a walleye guy I usually can find structure other places that hold eyes. But the open lake fisherman for silver fish it is much more difficult as there's only a few areas that have the depths to hold these species.

    I know how you guys feel, one of the reasons I went to a bigger boat with a closed bow, even still, fishing in 3+to 5fters isn't fun no matter how big your boat is. I use the Henderson harbor reports, there somewhat closer, or just look up the local forecast of the area and X the wave forecast by 2 and you'll be closer than any forecast!!.

    Same here!! My black walnut tree has never been so loaded, branches are touching the ground, and the hickory nut trees down here are loaded. I think it's a thing like it all depends on your location, frost no frost, higher elevations or lower??

    2 years ago we caught them right as we made the turn outside Limestone Shoals, just happened to catch a school moveing up towards the Black River, more than once this happened. A pile of boats combat trolling and we were the only soles up there, nobody even came to nose off what we were doing. LOL

    Old school ways were always the best!!, my family cans deer also, along with a few other meats. Canned venison makes the best homemade vegetable deer soup one can eat. We can sausage also, pickled red beets.. Man I wonder what the rich people are doing!! Canned venison with gravey made like a hot roast beef mashed potatoes from the feild and some pickled red beets!! A meal fit for a king!! Tight lines guys, it's only gonna get better as we head towards the fall months!!

    Yea I can relate to that as I watched my little girls get on the jr. high bus this morning. Mom and looked at each other, both of us a little tear jerked but neither wanted to admit it. Cherish your time with your daughters or sons!! They grow up to fast as we grow old. Thanks for nice words Chad. Buy the way that's on nice smallie, this was about 10 years ago.

    Holy crap my uncle is going to $hit he's been trying to break the 6# mark for many years!! Lots of 5.75#ers now and then a 6# but hasn't been able to break past the 6# mark. Nice going and congrats to your catch!!
