  1. Cool!! I'd like to see that.
  2. Where to find both power & transducer cords????? Guys I'm looking for both a power cord and a 83/200/455 transducer cords for my Lowrance Elite 7 HDI, I think the hds power cords are the same?? But the transducer now is a different story. Does anyone know where I could find a ducer wire? I checked fish 307 notta? I would like to outfit my "around home" boat, with my elite 7 HDI. I never leave my head unit out of my sight!! So I thought why not use it on this boat and become more familiar with it also. Now all I need are the power and ducer cords. Thanks for any help with this. PAP.
  3. This time of the year the, I'm not really sure about the younger kings, but the mature kings their jaws are getting or already are bone hard, and this does pose a problem keeping them hooked. The thinner the wire of what the hooks are made of. Certainly the best triple hooks are needed to hold these brutes, one option and I know some others will disagree as well as agree, the single high end hooks do shine this time of the year as one needle sharp hook will penetrate those bone hard jaws of the king salmon, as less force is used to put one hook deep into the jaw, as it does to get 3 in there.
  4. Yes that green tape absorbed the paint on my prodject and eliminated peeling of the paint when removed. I rebuilt the second rib from the top down, somehow I ripped a section off .
  5. This whole years been screwed up with big amounts of rainfall.. Hope this isn't a indication of what OL' Man Winter plans to throw at us???
  6. LOL
  7. What do you have left??
  8. Thanks for the knowledge of how this stuff works JTowne!! Actually this could have been avoided as I knew the owner, my uncle!!, he is the cheapest F'k that ever walked!! He used regular 3/4" ply wood and yes I helped him put it in, all the while thinking this is a waste of time. Then he goes to Cabela's and buys that rubber based paint with sand in it. Never thinking I'd be the owner of this boat. He had to get it out of the campground since he sold the camper to my other uncle and I. Long story short he offered it to his kids and grandkids and no one would go up and get it!! That the deal you pull it home and it's yours!! So he asked me and well, now I'm the proud owner of a 18ft Larson with a 3.0 I/0 the under side of the floor/ stringers are in excellent condition. So I'm slowly outfitting this boat as a fishing/tube pulling boat. Thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction. PAP!!
  9. Yes that's it!! I had a major brain fart and for the life of me couldn't remember what the hell the name of this product was. Much appreciated thanks Laker!! PAP!!
  10. Wood preservative Can someone please tell me the name of the stuff that preserves the wood and makes it stone hard again?? I have a little soft spot on the floor of my "around home boat" will repair come winter, but it's right where you need to stand to operate the riggers. Thanks for any help. PAP!!
  11. So this is what I have accomplished so far, I'm in the process of redoing the power cords, the bases are from fishnut who is a stand up brother to this site and to take me under his wing is above and beyond!!! As you can see it's been a ride but now all I need to do is rewire the riggers and Fish On Baby!!!! I forget on the 1 1/4" aluminum block I had the mounting holes drilled to accept a 1/4-20 bolt with a allen head. So stay tuned till I rewire the rigger power cords.
  12. WOW that boat is immaculate, hell I saw new boats with more flaws. She's a beauty good luck on your sale.
  13. LOL, that's what I found the most fault with, the hell with the acid!!
  14. Is this motor a long shaft 20" if so very interested!!! PAP.
  15. Yes I have to say it was very cool idea to cut out the time consuming efforts it take to get the fish to the net. The strike, then then the net!! One thing for sure there's a lot of fish for the future fishermen!! Those Dinks are as important as the Hawgs. Very nice video PAP.
  16. I think Guffins pretty straight up with his answer, and that's how I started. One thing I would add is, I would add the go to favorite stick baits, Smithwicks, Rapala, bombers, in the natural colors, perch colors, silver/black a lot will say orange bottom. Oh and a few Bay Rats. If you could be more specific of the the area's you'll be fishing that would help also because not all works from the southern shores to the northeast shores. Best of luck this sight is very very good for buying lures, and the prices are the best, watch for the post numbers of the seller!! Those with high post numbers are well trusted!! Also the shows they have during the winter are good things to go to as they have all kinds of goodies they sell.
  17. Dr. W I have the same issues, why you look like a drunk'en sailor LOL. the only fix is to get the front of the boat down in the water, well your a veteran of the water, the a$$ end sit lower in the water than the front and the ribs that stabilize you boat at greater speeds aren't in the water. Every person and marinea told me the same thing, add weight to the front of the boat. So I did, it worked, I ended up with 300# up in the bunk and the boat drove as if it were on plane very happy!! Till I went to put it on the trailer, which I did give some thought to but never thought it would be as punishing as it was. If your a slip boater ok if not better have new no marking rollers on.
  18. Congrats on your banner days!! That Coho was a rather stout fish also
  19. O ok, so your in N.C. I have a cousin that has or should I say had a place out on Cape Hatteras. I caught all kinds of crazy looking fish, but "Jim" her husband they were always trying for a certain species. I have no clue what they were anyway nice fish and have a great time!!!!
  20. Thanks for the info, in what waters are you fishing??
  21. Not to sound stupid, but what is it, I assume they're good eat'n. Thanks for any insight. Yes enjoy your vacation!!!
  22. Get rid of the catch&release rule first, they will strike at anything while on the nest. You remove the hen or the male and those gobys have those eggs destroyed in seconds.,!! Plus the smallies have developed a taste for those slimy suckers, use a gobie presentation with soft plastics. Smallies have a very similar life style like the walleyes, rocky bottom usually close to a deeper drop offs that they can escape to, fish the shoals that are 30ft or so and work your bait down off the shoals. They are in there, just this years they are playing hard ball. My uncles are up there now, they are with a semi pro bass fisherman, so see what they have to say. Good luck and tight lines!!
  23. I agree with the above poster, if it says it's a 20" shaft then I'd have to agree with the plate. You don't need to shove the motor in up to its power head. My kicker has a fixed bracket to my swim platform, I have substituted my 20" shaft with a 15" and as long as the waves are 3ft. or less I can get away with it, but I will say with the 20" shaft same hp. the longer shaft just works better, the water and bubbles are much closer to the boat and requires more throttle to get the same results of the 20"shaft where the water boils up a lot further back than the shorter shaft.
