  1. Yea and I couldn't be more proud of them, matter of fact tonight is there last softball game and they want to know when we are going up to the real big lake like last time dad?? I would really like to get them on some lakers!!
  2. It's not only the river it's all of the shore line of LakeO, it's a sad situation!! And if you don't see it with your own eyes you just can't imagine what these folks have been dealing with since ice out.
  3. I remember where my girls caught their first trout, and their first eye Black River Bay and lizzy caught her first smallie in the Black River, right befor the last set of islands. Those are memories you will never forget, even if she stays with it you'll remember every spot. Kinda like you know were every buck you shot was!! Absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for posting!! Yes you can see the Barbie poles in the background
  4. Thanks very interested, what were the roads like getting to the lake? Have a smaller 18' with a I/O good or no good? Comfort would be up most important to me also, have busted up back and hard seats or bending for long periods of time kill me. How bad were the bugs?
  5. Congrats sstout, yes it's hard to beat a Gambler Riggs, they simply work!! Designed by a guy that loves to fish lakers and enough trophys and plaques and lived on the lake his whole life, why would anyone doubt Brian's products, I didn't swim any yet, looks like the first for me will be in 10 days, they will be tested out. I like to fish them in the trench. Get my daughters hooked on lakers. Then take it from there!! Thanks for the post!! PAP.

    Trim tabs

My boat was awful with the nose standing just about strait it was dangerous to pull my girls around on a tube you couldn't see in front of you for a long time!! My wife told me no more till that gets resolved. I called a big boat sales outfit in Bethlehem Pa. And they recommend the set I have on. They are self leveling type. Easy to install the direction were spot on and the hole you use are self explanatory. Took boat to lake and it was like a different boat, only one thing I needed to do was go 2 more holes on the port side due to batteries and I went a little more because of my kicker when it's on. I forget the name but I remember they were over $100.00 but not over $150.00 and I'm very pleased. Then they talked me into a 4 blade prop. Now I'm on plane in very very short distance, and 25 to 3000 rpm for a short time and back to 1800 to 2000 rpm to stay on plane. I'm very pleased and it didn't break the bank. The guys over across from Henchens told me to go with a aluminum 4 blade and I asked why aluminum, his words were The stainless steel props are what keep us in business they don't give and that's what's busting up lower units where the aluminum will save your azz in that situation. I was Leary about the aluminum but so far so good. Pap.
  8. Great to hear LakerTaker, you got all of them loose??
  9. Yeow that ain't good with the high water conditions!!
  10. I can relate to that Landshark, I know when they put the nice new all blacktop ramp in on our local lake years ago, all the unwanted city crap came with it, including the F'n PWC Bastards, talk about clueless to a on coming or going with fishing boat, they have an area to where they are supposed to stay but it's not enforced, move a 1/2 of foot with out the transom light and that's a $63.50 fine!! Go Figure. I didn't know Otisco had a launch other than the campground. Hell I'd fly up there with my 18fter to screw around for a day or so!! Getting her ready for fishing/ fun boat trying to make all fishing goodies quick disconnect so I can pull the kids on the tube. Good thread!!
  11. Way to go Big John, like anything in life if there's a will there's a way, give it your all and you will prevail!! There are others on the river that are very successful!! and you can be also, I do know they are night fishermen or before light till 7-8 am. So knowing your surroundings is a must!! Good luck to your new quest.!!
  12. That's super Chad thanks for posting. One of the main reasons we never fished Otisco is the launch system. If you were able to come and go at your leisure, not using the campground ramp at 2:30 am or so, I don't know where else there's a launch useable? I guess there isn't.
  13. Your the king man, so like a cannon block type. There only held on with a knob type bolt.
  14. Wow!! Yesterday we were going up our road and there's a big woods that opens up into a freshly cut field at 3:30 pm there were 2 adults in the field, they just looked at us, I even backed up some so I could see by lord there they stood!! This is why you shouldn't leave the house without the flint!!
  15. I just got a "send your order via email" I posted no price no pic. No money
  16. I dont know location but price is $69 same as the other set up
  17. That's sound great, I really like the idea of trying different strengths!! Is the underneath solid or someway to put it on a plate of aluminum or of such to fasten it to a base?? Just curious?? Running it place at the mail box!!!
  18. I run main line down to dipsys from there on fluro.
  19. Super deal man I can't wait!! This will be like Christmas in July!! LOL

Sold / Closed 1989 212 Tournament Penn Yan

I agree with the above poster, hold on to it, I learned through boats I sold taking a punch in the guts just to get rid of them. Then I went and bought this peice of shyt at the time, now it's sound boat but I bought an 82 Sea Ray with nothing to offer other than a 93 trailer with 250 miles, the distance from Oneida to Pennsylvania. No nothing in extras!! For $4000.00 You want $5000.00 ready to go fishing!!!. I've made my mind up if the fishing sucks when I get back from my family's vacation, I'm going to pull her home and try like I did a few years back and stick it in with a Marinia who gets a small percent and try to unload it at our local fair. Then purchase something newer from off here. So don't let it fly for peanuts.
  21. Yes I have to agree, seems like even back then there was quite a few doubter that this may fail, and turn into a mess. Only today it would have been a complete disaster with all the different thoughts that are out there nowadays!! Very interesting read, and I can relate to the comments that the fish were so thick you could walk across them. When my dad and uncle owned property on the perch River, all the way in the back of the river where the stream bubble out of the ground the salmon were in there so thick it was kinda gross. The most amazing thing to me was come spring, you couldn't find 1 indication that even 1 salmon was there let alone many hundreds were in there a few months ago!! Mother Nature does work her amazing ways to rid every bone, scale and hide!!
  22. I have a yellow top batteries in for my main, and new yellow top as secondary battery that runs my riggers and all my electronics, 2 fish finder, a stand alone GPS so I can run my finder on the two pages, bottom scan and the sonar, Moore sub troll, and of course the vhf on scan so I can pick up whoever and whatever I can. I got the yellow tops as they are a duel purpose, I needed on to start the main and be able to handle the load going back in to the battery from the alternator. Which I built for my boat, 145 amps it puts out at 2800 rpm. So far so good, we fished from 6:am till 7:30 pm 13.5 hrs and the boat fired right up, so I was pleased. For how long I don't know yet. I hope lasts 4-5 years. For that I have in $$ for these batteries, one was bought as a blem, only paid $75 for a yellow top.
  23. Man that sounds awesome, fishnut, I can't wait to see it. Your are F&?(king KING! I will post a pic for ya when it gets here!! Good people you are man, I thank you sir!! You will be rewarded for your effort put forth. PAP
