  1. Thanks!!
  2. Is Lake Hebert fly in only?? we drove 115 miles on Clova Rd then another 30 miles into Lake O'Sullivane Lake & Lodge when Ted Owned it. We also flew into O'Sullivane the first 3 years till the loggers had the road was up to the point that the lodge cut a shorter way in that reduced the distance to 15 miles. You couldn't drive faster than a crawl. Took 3hrs. to go 15 miles. the 30 mile way was another 5-6hrs. congrats to your trip. it is the ultimate in a fishing experience!!! now your spoiled as we are those numbers, take years to reach in the states!! Thanks for the post and pics!! pap.
  3. Yes there are a few manifolds but mine has to be off a pre 70's and also so the linkages to be level with the rear afixed position the intake area that the carb sits on is raised higher than the many "you" found. My uncle has a speed shop, builds modifies for the dirt circle circuit. So it almost came down to a aluminum intake and a spacer plate he had, that was specially made for Baker 2bbl that flows 733 cfm, but that was resolved by a man who said he had a few manifolds above his garage he would look. The next day he called with the answer we were hoping for, late 60's 283 was marked on it and these manifolds the base sits higher like most 4bbl. Something else about the way the runners were designed was also. Plus no heat riser plate was in these intakes also. Just a thin gasket and 4 nuts.!!! IM NOT GOING TO GET THIS THREAD OFF OF ITS ORIGINAL TOPIC! WHICH IS SALTWATET!!
  4. Well that might be true Bob, being in the starter & alt. Buisness I surly can tell you that since they starter putting that salt brine down on the roads you wouldn't believe what a F&$(k it is to get units apart with out snapping somethings off and starter with aluminum DE housings are litterly gone. You might as well figure on new exhaust manifolds aluminum y pipes the the shutters in the exhauste unless it's through hull exhaust. I'm not arguing just stating what I went through. Buy the way, try and find a small block 2 barrel intake!! 4 barrels all over but mine has a 500 cfm Holley 2 barrel marine carb.
  5. Dicks now carries Bay Rats!! Was in the local Dicks sporting goods and to my surprise they now carry Bay Rats, long-short, deep-shallow, buy one get the second 1/2 off. Just thought I'd share my findings. Needles to say a few came along home with me!!
  6. Your most welcome!! Those fish deserve a tip of the hat in these conditions, for sure!!
  7. I am a owner of a salt water boat, but not a closed system, the boat was a Mr salty then put on Oneida. Then jack azz me comes along and Saw this boat sitting with a for Sale sign on it, $4500.00 the owner a preacher man of God told me it was flushed everytime and has worked flawlessly for years on Oneida. Long story short, take it from a guy that paid out the azz for buying a saltwater boat even though it was used for years in fresh water. The marinia failed to properly winterize the motor so a new 350 was put in place of the 305 then the preachers buddy died and he lost interest and decided to sell the boat. Young and dumb thinking I knew everything the motor started up on muffs and ran for a hour heat guage stayed in the norm, I took a heat tester and everything seemed fine. Talked the guy down to $3850.00 had a 93 trailer he bought new to take it to New York and home. Needless to say there wasn't one thing on the motor other than the components that were in oil useful including the intake manifold. The whole drive train is new including the outdrive. My suggestion to you is go over that boat with the best surveyer on planet earth!! Before you buy. I don't mean to put the fear of God "pun intended" since I bought the boat off a minister that lied through his teeth. I finally have a sound boat, but I could just when I see the buys on here!! Best of luck approach with caution, let the surveyer do his job!!!
  8. Congrats guys, glad to hear Les got away from those penned in fish and hit the big water!! Thanks for the first exciting post of my day, now I got the itch!! But I have to wait till we get back from our cruise vacation. Gotta keep the wife happy or us guys that have some time under our belts know how that can be anyway great post, trip, with many more to come guys!!!
  9. Well fortunate for you you joined the best fishing/hunting site there is!! I don't know squat about the fingers, but there are a ton of great guys on here that do. Keep your eyes opened on the fingers lakes section on here and don't be afraid to ask questions!! There's no such thing as a dumb question unless you don't know the handle from the tip of a pole other than that your good to go. I don't know how much help you'll receive right now because there is a big money tournament going right now so just a heads up not to get disgusted right away. After the derby the guys will open up and give you a hand!! Buy the way welcome aboard, From PAP.
  10. I fished moose head lodge in Quebec, not the answers your looking for but I do remember that they were fussy with blade size, so be sure to take a variety of different size blades. Not just the size of LakeO but lake trolls like on the fingers and smaller scale lakes also. Just thought I would throw that out there??
  11. If you run a flurocarbon leader you can afix your leader with a Spro swivel. I think the #8 is rated at 50lbs and you can either make the leader the length of the rod making netting the fish possibly, some will argue this point but I reel the swivele through the eyes which is very doable. The swivele will also fit through your reel guides. I've never had an issue, some say it ripped the ceramic eyes out, for that reason I don't run ceramic eyes on my salmon rods. This will eliminate the line twist. Good luck and tight lines to you!! PAP.

  18. They don't call em Kings for no apparent reason!! LOL
  19. Awesome job, I was beginning to think this might be a wash this year, doesn't appear to be dragging on the bottom with that irregular paint line at the top. More like a piece that saw a lot of time in the water and tackle box, either way it does the job. Those are some stout fish for this time of the year. Nice job CAB99
  20. Are these riggers with the telescoping booms? Sent from my HTC Desire 610 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I thought about that also, but you would have to remove a lot of material lots and lots of cuts with a table Sent from my HTC Desire 610 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I have to agree that laker is a slob!! Congrats to your day!! Good to see and read a fishing post!!
  23. Boy you can sure say that again Kevin, "no degree of consistency" hard to get a pattern going on Lake'O also as far as eyes are considered!! Along with the added water being so dirty, out of the Black River Bay on the north shore 6"s down and you can't see your lure/spoon. Had some luck with deep divers with loud rattles anything with a lot of vibrations giving them something to home in on. Definitely not a stellar year for eye fishing. Might be awesome eye fishing in years to come, as I believe this year and maybe a part of next, sure saved a lot of fish.

for sale : usa 82 grady white

If it's just a outer water jacket it can be repaired, but must be pulled out and pressure check done on the other components, that's what cracked on my motor. If it's not a pressurized system the fix is relatively easy once the motor is out. oh yea, what's the price of the boat?? And is there a soft top with it??
  25. How about it shinintimes, hell, I'm interested in his solo trip, great catch Kevin, I certainly wouldn't expect anything less from you!!
