I don't know about floating structures , but I can't imagine hooking in to a picnic table or a tire, let alone someone's entire dock?? Could prove to be interesting to say the least,

I use the bolt tha holds the harmonic balancer to the crank that way it's more precise. Use 1/2" breaker bar or 1/2" long handle ratchet

Pull the #1 plug in the firing order out, hold your thumb over the hole then have someone turn the motor over till it blows your thumb off, look at the valves, if there both closed your close to top dead center, the you can either make something with a curv on it and move the crank one way then the other till you have the Piston at the exact top. Then take the cap off and the rotor should be pointing at the # 1 piston. Both valves are closed, the pull the distributer out, if your going to repair it mark the base of the distributer and the block, either with punch marks or a paint pen. After repair or replacement make sure the rotor is pointed towards the #1 cylinder. It's very easy to be 1 tooth off either ahead or behind, but your rotor will not be directly pointed at the #1 cylinder, and it can be a S.O.B. To get it right, other times they drop right in. Anyway that's how I do it. Maybe someone else that does it for a living has a better way? I hope your distributer isn't like mine, I can't pull mine straight up it hits tha transome board and I can't cut a spot out for it as my dog house won't cover the part I need to cut out.

for sale : usa 1984 9M Trojan International reduced
Xxx replied to bandrus1's topic in Boats for Sale
Man that's whole lotta boat!! What a beautiful peice of work. That must have one hell of a big hole to fill up, to keep those 454's fed with juice -
Hell yea the water can drop as fast as it rose, the mud and silt will settle on the eggs and smother them. I heard they want it to raise another 10" before starts to settle in and or start to reside, so it's anyone's guess. Let's just hope for the better, and go from there!!

Wow that certainly puts things in perspective!! To those that are traveling from a far distance, I've been reading the local pages of the newspapers, this has impacted just about everyone in or near the lake!!, we had major wind damage in our area, but not directly in my area, north and west of me is awakening to a mess if you weren't up all night from wind damage and rain. What the hell is going on in this world?? Sure makes ya wonder!!
-
Wow buddy, that ain't good, not at all, I just watched the weather forecast for the first week of eye season, and it shows a big F'n low stalling over the NE part of the country, settling in right over L'O, not only are most not having a dock to tie to, all the docks floating around in the lake. All in all let's all use our heads out there, be safe, lend a hand if you see someone struggling with their dock or their boat, this could prove to be interesting yet!!

Holy moly guys, yea that's the highest water in the lake that I've ever saw. Yea sure it's been as high in Dexter at times, but it settled right down after a few days, geeze I wonder how many rigs are going to get tore off getting snagged on shyt floating around. I would assume putting a spread out might be a costly mistake. Darn it anyway I finally get my shyt together and now this, just so happens we have a week of not much going on so I could get away for a week, and now this high water. I thought they built such a relief dam of some sort?? Well I have to play the hand I was delt, so just motor around safety with all eyes looking for a harpoons, might have to trailer to certain launches instead of making the treck at a snails pace. Thanks for the heads up on the lake conditions!!! PAP.

Man Chas0218 that sucks, in your report you said "3' in some area's" meaning snow in feet or 3 inches of rain, again I'm not criticizing your speech!! It wouldn't surprise me if 3 foot of snow fell in places up there, but this evening around 10:pm or so they are calling for heavy rains. This cold front moving through is supposed to be nasty!! With heavy rains. I hope not!!

Thanks I appreciate that, I think if I can stay mechanically sound, I'll be alright, this boat has been the boat from hell for mechanical failures, but I hope I have the little basterd gremlins kicked overboard!! So if you see a boat being towed out by a skiff, you'll know it's me. I put insurance on the boat and I'll have my 12 guage loaded with slugs!! I know a place that's over 200ft of water, and it needs some structure to hold fish get where I'm going with this story!!. All in fun guys. -

2017 LOTSA Pen Project
Xxx replied to Instigator's topic in Lake Ontario Trout & Salmon Association (LOTSA)'s Topics
That was a absolute fantastic well organized group of people that responding to this event that provides to all those with a line in the water. I take care of the fish for our gun club, we raise our own also. It's truly amazing how fast these fish grow. Even the hatchery guys were annoyed that our fish were bigger than theres. It's to bad that I live so far from the lake, being disabled I could do a lot of the stuff other don't care for, but that's not the case. But to guys and gals that gave their time!! -
Thanks Todd, really appreciate the info, I usually trailer from the Black River Camp Ground to Henderson, as its 11 miles from Henderson to the camp, on bad days it puts the smack down on you azz. Plus the fuel, I'd rather just drive my truck to the boat, if the situation comes to that. I'll fish Monday in the bay area, and around that area, if not seeing much them I'll fish from Pillar point towards bull rock and the Chaumont Bay Area. Being further down and a good eye bite, I'll try to get in at Bedford!! Thanks again pap.

That's going to be a tough decision with that type of per capita, the units are very close in what they have to offer. I have an elite 7hdi and I just got a elite 9 touch, hoping the learning curve is easier, but I were you I'd wait, till the guys with the upper end units chime in, with the Raymairine and simrad and other top notch units. Either way good luck with your purchase!!

Xxx replied to hard knox's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I'll be leaving Sunday evening after the opener of eye season, fish Monday-Friday, fishing eyes with a couple other boats in the morning till noon then blast over to Laker Land, then hit the eyes in the evening, and try at night after I lay a gps track down, just for this purpose. -

Was thinking in between Stoney & Galloo anyone check that out?? -
Man that's a beautiful looking rig, if I wouldn't have just dropped a new power plant in my Sea Ray, I'd be making a trip out there I'm from above the Allentown area, she's a doll, good luck with your sale, if it was a 22fter she would be residing in kunkletown pa. You won't need luck either, just a figure of speech

Way to Stoneam2006, glad to hear you didn't give up at the dock!! Got got gear out and boated one and missed one by inches!! I can tell you my first day didn't go that smoothLOL and no I didn't land a fish on my first try at sea. I'm 52 years old and to this day the first time out I still get butterflies in my stomach. Is she going to fire up, I know I put the plug in but I still double guess myself, on the way to the ramp I'm already wiping sweat, please let the launch be empty. Because the faster you go the longer it takes. Ya done good !! Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back!! PAP
