I hunted with a 45/70 for years, in Pa. You can drive deer and I was always a driver, in this one drive everytime with out fail the deer used to go back through us drivers. In the thickest part of the drive there'res a turn so the top guys needed to stay put while the bottom guys brought the bottom side around, well if ther was a rookie in the chase the deer would go back through us, how many times I nearly go run over by the filthy critters and always the big buck I'd see but my 30-30 Winchester never made the grade. That's when I bought my 45/70, that changed things the following year when I shot my first 8 point buck. I shot others but usually ugly screwed up racks. I shot my first bear in Canada on a spring hunt/fishing trip. The 45/70 knocked that bear down like someone hit him on the head with a sledge hammer, she weighed 310lbs not bad for a spring bear. I hunted with that rifle till I bought my 35Whelen in a pump action, that piece I don't leave the house without it in the season. You will never be sorry you bought your 45/70 if your a hunter that hunts in the bush. LOL and a better bear gun I'd say you'd have to have a wild cat cartridge made, to beat the 45/70. Good luck with your purchase.
Now why doesn't that surprise me, Cabela's dude didn't even know what you were talking about?? How that store stays above water I'll never know. There fishing dept. certainly isn't their bread and butter. Must be their clothing dept. Sorry to hear your frustrating fishing dept. story, one thing for sure, your not alone!!
I can't Freaken believe this, all the boats that have come and gone!! Where were deals when I was in the market to purchase a boat, loaded to the gills with gear. I have put money out and lots of it to get to the point where my boat is up to these boats, turn key and go fishing!!
Yes, the newer ones have a adjustment that you can tighten the twist handle so it will stay at the rpm you chose. Plus they don't shake like a mini earthquake the newer ones are mounted better and in rubber. With a 4 stroke you can get a throttle control box you can operate from your favorite spot to be on your boat.
Yea that will definatly shove your boat around!! Let me know what you want for you 9.9 motor, I have a 15hp but I'm embarrassed to say the year!! LOL that way I'll only be 22 years behind the 8ball
If it isn't insulated hang the ground on there, that's probably it. I zoomed in and it appears not to be, that ground wire is heavy and if it reaches bolt her fast and twist the key, also the jumper cable trick tell you everything else is per plan.take that star washer off, see how hot that got. I took a class when in business for my self Delco discontinued the star washer on there heavy duty units, the star washer only put 9 contact points into play, a flat washer is much better than a star washer or nut, flat & tight is right!!
Take a pair of jumper cables hook the black cable on the motor housing and take a junk screw drive and touch starter stud if she spins over the starter is good, then eliminate the ground cable from the motor housing same deal if she spins the motor over you have a good ground if not that's a problem start looking for a ground problem, that big black wire looks like it belongs on a battery stud, then do as Muskie said about the starter solinoid, some are insulated bases and some aren't either no power or no ground at the sol. Yer dead in the water, I would assume your battery is good??
Is it a V4? Either way look up year and and make they have the full schematics on line, 1 simple check first the ignition wire is fused from the back of the switch to the starter red wire, I had a 88 88/SPL also make sure that lanyard for the man overboard is pushed all the way in, I had to get a new do-hicky as that's why I had intermittent starts, pulled my F'n hair out till I found that little piece of crap had sun fatigue and allowed that button to pop out just a tad. Best of luck pap
Thanks, I get so pizzed off trying to call those folks I bought shyt load from that guy at the Seneca show against the wall closest to the lake, these are genuine spoons.
Wishing all those with homes, cottages, and camps that are near or in the flood zones a touch of good luck and no to minimal damage. This year so far has been one wacky azz year!! No snow, then nearly 3 feet of it after 70 degree temps in February, now it's time for spring and Mother Nature throws another curve ball!! Hope this isn't a sign of what's to come this year??
Welcome aboard Wink!! Yea I've been out there in some snotty ass waters in a 21fter Sea Ray fisherman, a freind of my uncle has a place up in Odgensburg on the ST. Lawrance River, and I've been on that river when it wasn't fit for a V bottom boat let alone a pontoon boat. If I ever would get one, I'd want one that can handle a bigger HP. outboard because you can't get the front up with most of those boats that have the motor that comes with them. Cape Vincent gives up some nice smallies, that's a fact!!! Tight lines to you this year!! PAP.
