Cabelas has the X4 & X3 $75 x4 $89. Both color plus a extra sonar for the rear of the boat, there were some Garmins mixed in $99--$119. This should be in your wheel house. These units use GPS, not the water wheel like the older models. Hope this helps ya!! PAP

OOHH, look up a lowrance X4 I think Cabela's has sale on them?? You can pick up a black& white off amazon for peanuts.

Why wouldn't GPS speed work. Hell you could by a X4 for a few bucks on sale.

I know it isn't easy to see or understand what one bird can do!! Those damn blue heron cleaned my trout pond out, I can't imagine what a flock of those basterds do to the fish. The tree huggers certainly wouldn't approve my mission on them, but it certainly would be cheaper than paying someone to spray oil on the eggs. Come on!!!

I never had any problems with the points system, hell im going on season #4 with the same set of points, I never had a no start, due to a no electric issue. I've never heard of the hot spark brand? I guess I'll stick to O'l Faithful points. System. I'm not plagued with issues, so don't fix what ain't broke.LOL, I had a 86 Chevy pickup that ate pick up modules about every other month. I always kept a spare in the glove box with the torx bit screwdriver handy, so ya I know where your coming from there Skipper.

Hey Marine, remember how tough you are!! You can beat this shyt!! Keep your head up and marching foreward. There's many folks out there thanking you for your service!! Now prove to us you can pull through this!! It will be a hard uphill battle but that's nothing you haven't endured. keep fishing best therapy I had during times of tough. Points vs. aftermarket kits. I was wondering what is your thoughts on the aftermarket kits to make a points distributer a so called pointless--- HEI distributer. What's your personal experience with them? Is there a better manufactuer {pertronics} vs other companies. I know with a spare condenser and a set of points and a hot wire I can make a motor run even without a matchbook cover just a good eyeball!! Oh don't forget a spare coil I can make spark to the plugs. Has anyone experienced a failure? We are talking computer type components in a harsh environment. Besides having a spare unit what does one do? Now what's the benefit to this? If you never had any problems with points, better power, fuel consumption, easier starting? My boat fires right up half a revolution and she's purring!! Do you need to retime the motor, does the mechanical advance still play a part of this? Absolutely, if you hook one and it's not going to make it, that's another story!! My dad loved to eat trout, me not to much. 1 and I had enough!! If they tasted like haddock, well then I'd keep a few. LOL

I also think it's stupid!!, I can't for the life of me can't believe that the average fishermen doesn't know how much damage they are doing by wading in the streams BUT we have the Bassholes that practice catch & release of bass in the spawning season, while thinking they are the king of swing by catching a nested bass which a blind, crippled, crazy person can accomplish!! The gobies and pan fish rape and pillage the eggs to a point of nonexistent!! The same guys are the first to bytch there ain't NO BASS come June-July really. Just because the law says you can do it doesn't make it the right thing to do. Use your head for something other than a hat rack!!
