Look for a Fast Track gas station. They have no ethanol premium. My motor runs great on it. If I use gas with ethanol, it's been nothing but headaches even when I use the treatment.
Wow - Sounds like the day we had 2 years ago. We fished that same stretch this past Friday and couldn't buy a fish! It seems like the Browns turn off and on like a light switch. I guess you just need to be there when the switch is on!
We fished 2 days in Mexico Bay and went 9 for 12 with 7 of them in the 25-30 range. We used 5 different Flasher Fly combinations and found that ALL worked but none of them seemed to work any better than the next one. We generally fished 2 riggers around 80-100 and 2 dipsy's on #2 setting around 240-280. The only thing that seemed consistent is that we were doing better on dipsy's by a margin of 2-1! Anybody else experience this?
We finally made it out to the Trench on Sunday around 11AM for about 4 hours. Didn't move a rod and hardly marked anything. Saturday was just too rough for my 18 footer.
I talked to a lot of people coming back in. It seemed like anybody with a boat under 18 was heading back and even some bigger ones. I figured better safe than sorry. Was that you with the center console parked at the end of the lot? I had the white Lund parked in the middle. When we went out the second time around 2PM the lake was fine. According to my son, "everybody out there was catching more than us". I told him sometimes it just seems that way but maybe he was right. From my standpoint, I thought we did pretty good for our second time out with downriggers!

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
My son and I left the Pine Grove Boat Launch Sat morning but ended up turning around because it seemed a little rough for my 17 footer. We went out later in the afternoon and ended boating 1 and breaking another off at the net when the fish got tangled in the down-rigger cable. If anybody catches a 20lb king with a green-dotted flasher and fly attached, it's probaly mine! Sunday we were 3 for 5. 6 of the 7 total hits were on green-dotted flashers with matching green fly. Nothing on spoons, dipsy's or leaded line. Just a great day to be out there!
