  1. Gang, just some questions, daily legal limit? just on the trout and salmon or does that include bass as well? Heaviest cooler I assume wins? Can a basic member of LOU join in? Can I launch anywhere on the lake and then meet at weigh ins at Myers at 1pm? Thanks for the help.
  2. The proposed crossbow bill made it through the Senate on June 12 and is now for comment at the DEC. hope it's not too late for this year. Well have to wait n see.
  3. Yikes..... Anyhow it must be the Deet in the Buggs Spray that makes the stuff work. Says 25%Deet. For those flys now that sit in the back of the boat upset they can't get to your ankles, I bought a portable tower zapper to see if that rids them, it didn't work. Guess ill stick with the spray.
  4. I had a couple perch done from Larry at Clingermans a few years ago plus a deer and were awesome. I'm not really sure though who is running the shop at this point.
  5. My elite 7 is awesome during daytime. I'm sure most of the new units are better these days than older units. Anybody remember cupping your hands around the Interphase 20/20 back in the day lol
  6. Go with Lowrance, spend the money and get one with GPS. You'll be glad that you did. When your in search mode looking for fish, bait etc, it will be worth it. As far as models, Elite 5 base combo, the dsi stuff I wouldn't worry about, is a good start. I had one and loved it, then they came out with the elite 7 lol.
  7. I have had good luck with 40lb big game spliced in with 17lb flouro at the end.
  8. Nick, great as always following your trip and information you provide. We may hit the water tonight if storms stay away. Have a safe trip home.
  9. Nick with only a steelie and the clouds comin we took your advice hit the dockers at oak park marina. Clam poy boy. Gone. Good food.
  10. Chinook, used it this am, worked great, was no fragrance like you said. And I didn't have to drink this stuff.......
  11. Sorry to hear Les, at least you didn't lose anything or get caught in the rain, went to sodus and just missed a cloud as well but made it in ok. mike
  12. Jim congrats, looks like your all over working those downrigger s nice job. Enjoy your season!
  13. Nice fish. What ever is in that spray which is probably the 25% deet, kept them all in the back of the boat. Now I'm thinking of going to walmart and getting a portable insect zapper to rid them.
  14. Sorry we missed ya out there Nick, didn't think we would make it through that second wave of rain. Hot zone was that 190 -180 Nice bow on the slider with 3 rips on the dipsies but nothing home. The bugs, not a problem, got the Buggs spray the other day that was mentioned on here Stuff worked awesome.
  15. Hey Mike, Lakers lakers lakers, still hanging in there for the kings but for whatever reason im stuck with the 18inchers. Thinking of going west in the morning not sure though.
  16. Omg fishermans friend, that brought back some memories. Can't believe how long ago that was.
  17. Thanks Nick, I was was thinking that might be the case. Could you still use the data that shows that huge temp break on that 40 degree line as useful info or is it all useless and should should plan on finding temps with the x4 when I'm out there? This am I started in 100fow and had 47 deg down 75 but when I ended the day in 75 fow it was 45 near the bottom. When I was out to 170 I marked notta but when I came back in that 60 to 80 I marked all kinds of bait. Mike
  18. Ok, so I looked on the Michigan coast watch site and have seen this before. Can someone tell me what the temps mean? I was up today out of Sodus and I'm pretty sure I didn't see 35 degree water. Also does the map show that i should be fishing that break on the 43.30 bar?
  19. Goat boy, I have a GLS 195 and use a 6hp. You might want to go with a 9hp if it were me. Not sure about short or long based on your hull. I think it would depend on if you were gonna use a mount or directly on your hull. Get a trolling bar. EZ steer. They do have remote throttle kits. Not too familiar with them though.
  20. Bugs spray on the way. Let us pray. Otherwise I'm bringing a flame torch out next time.
  21. It was good to meet you and Theresa Nick, nice fish today, good luck to the rest of your season! Mike.
  22. Mark, about now there broken up pretty much. You can get them trolling cranks around the north end in about 15fow or if your luck enough can find some schools off pump house on intake. Will that be PayPal or visa?
  23. Cool, got mine today and have the elite 5 out. 7 should go in Sunday. Just realized other than getting a tooth drilled, putting in another finder with wiring is just as bad.
