Yea, I hear ya Les, just doesn’t seem like a binding issue, more like the spring that’s used came from Ford F-150 frontend lol. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Man, glad everyone made it back safely. Sucks about the boat. You can always replace that. Also, thank you for sharing your story as it puts a reality check to everyone that sh****t can happen in a blink of an eye......we always can learn and prepare as best we can. So I put on a couple of trees on my boat. Am I the only one that has difficulty lifting them up to swivel in and out? Seems to be about a 20-30lb force to lift. Some can’t even get them to lift up unless you pull just right. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Here’s what I ended up doing, if it’s small needle nose hook out let it go. Never touching it or falling to the floor. Bigger fish get it in the net, fish jaw grab it with a fish gripper, pop hook out, through it in the water with the fish grabber still connected. Let fish swim with boat as mentioned on this site. Works very well other than making sure it doesn’t swim in my kicker on the opposite side. Once it’s swimming real ease it. If hooks are in the gill plates bleeding badly it’s done. lol we sure were talking about how nice it would be too see one like that come to the net during derby time. Was one of those days where after the hell broke loose we looked at each other in a ball of sweat and said what just happened lol. Then we went back through again and had it happen again.... So we started at 60-80 down having 46 at 80. When we came in around the 150 depth we found that 46 degrees turned to 53 degrees. We headed back out and when the 80 ft down ball hit 49 degrees all hell broke loose. Thanks Bill, not too many lakers (Slimers) pushing 20lbs have hit my floor. One long reel on 400 copper. We needed her back in May on Seneca...... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Cool video Danne, what style dipsey do you prefer and size? Just wondering if you use chinook or Lure Jensen or another type. Do you use wire or braid? Sorry for all the questions. I’ve lost quite a few rigs with chinooks recently due to the edge they have. Might try a snubber off the back to protect leader maybe. Just wondering. Thanks. Here’s fresh off the press that works 100%. Use 15lb test troll for an hour down 100feet, have a buddy start a video, reel up placing the line between your teeth while grinding and pulling line. Send us video for confirmation. At least that’s what I heard.......[emoji102] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Seems to be the direction I might head if I have one iotta of an issue with mine. I’m just not a big fan of the lever to let the ball down. Afraid of accidentally hitting it with a net or something. Or am I missing something. Sorry, not to hijack thread. Hope you find what the issue was causing the damage. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
