I’m only somewhat knowledgeable of this as I had a hot boat with mine. Spent a tremendous amount of time finding source. Ended up being a couple of things with bonding and my radio. Learned a lot going through it. Basically if you touch your neg side of the battery and touch different points on your boat while turning on electrical stuff you’ll see if you have leakage. Paint bubbling around my canvas snaps were giving signs of electrolysis going on. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Doesn’t sound good does it. What did NYSEGs intake do when they were drawing for the coal plant? Is not that part of the process still intact or am I missing something? I was always a fan of that warm water discharge during the winter back in the hay day, caught tons of Browns and salmon. Anyone know what the difference might be? I haven’t had a chance to study it at all. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Ahh gotcha. So it’s more of the fact that it’s a loose feeling and you probably feel the torque of the motor as well when you take off I’m assuming. You might find a tightening bolt on the motor that might stiffen up the collar on the transom a bit. Just to give it some resistance so it doesn’t steer off course when you let go of the wheel. I echo signalmans thoughts. There’s a ton of us 18-19ft aluminum that make it out when it’s safe to do so based on weather, having the safety gear / electronics etc. A 16ft is a whole other league that just puts more risk into it. Sure you can do it, but if your looking for someone to say go ahead so you can feel good about doing it........ I’ve got a 19ft and wouldn’t be offshore with out my kicker, gps, and vhf and all the while my having cell phone. Is it over kill? I look at it’s mandatory. That’s me. For what’s its worth, that lake can kick up waves in a half hr that can make life miserable let alone if something happens mechanical your worst day. If your hooked into trolling on lake O, get a deep v 18 or bigger with a kicker that has some basic electronics. If you can’t afford it, jump in on a charter with friends during mid summer if the bites offshore. Just an opinion and a suggestion to your question. Everyone has one. Be safe out there. Where do you see the play occurring, at the linkage to the motor or at the wheel? Assuming it’s cable steer. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hit up Roy’s Boys on here or contact Roy’s Marina. He had some at derby time. Not sure what gauge but it was solid not braid. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Yea I’m with Brian, go after easiest fish to get your hands on. As a matter of fact break loose one day, (not sure of ages), get some worms, bobbers etc and get over to north end of Cayuga. Sunnies all day with a mix of bass. Kids would love it. If their older, and you think it’s under them, go for the lakers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

What a grind.... I still think we didn’t place any fish this year because I never got a 2020 pin to put in my visor. Lol. Superstitious.....yep. So we ended with nothing bigger than 7.5 lbs with an avg size of 4-5 lbs. A total of 29 for the weekend, 75% of them on the gamblers in deep water. Slow moving. The rest were on copper wire on the shelf’s. My oldest son is a natural now with a pflueger. Wish I gave him more time and it wasn’t so windy. Couldn’t catch a fish on junk lines. Just too slow but I sure tried to get the Sutton’s to roll. Monday we only ended with two and I’d say we fished the hardest that day in the wind. What we had sat and sun was gone for Monday. As I mentioned before, lots of lampreys and scarred fish. We need those under control no doubt. Kudos to PA27 who always is into good fish. Also to MJ B. I think it was her first derby, Ron will have to correct me but sported a spot in Woman’s. Nice going. Also had a Brother who stood strong for a while but managed to stay in a spot in the men’s category the last day. I told myself I was going to relax a little more this derby, I think I accomplished that. Had a good cigar and put the auto pilot on. It was good chatting it up with other Lou members at the dock or seeing them out on the water. Roy Boys, as always thanks for the hospitality. Till next year. Sounds good Nick, maybe see if there’s any interest in doing it the weekend prior vs the day prior. Might get the guys that are somewhat superstitious of catching a derby winner the day before. Just an idea. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
