  1. I’m in agreement on the lamprey issue. I would say we would first have to agree there’s something wrong with population / size of lakers. It appears we’re missing a yrs class or two. I would like to hope it’s on the rebound and that stocking will make up the loss in the next 3-5 yrs with these 4-6 lbrs maturing to the 10+. I had plenty of lampreys in my boat with every other fish scared. I sure hope it’s high on the list to fix. If it’s not the lamprey, then it needs to be found out real soon. Personally I think the bait is a good thing. Rather have it than not. Look at Keuka. You won’t need Kings, plus it would create more of a dilemma with the fisheries and competition. Lakers will chomp every sawbelly they can grab. You just have to have them in the lake......... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Also before you cut, check to make sure the factory didn’t flip them backwards. You might be able to just flop them toggle shorter ends. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I would say if it trailers good and is set up correctly you could just shorten them. Just have to do it carefully unwrapping the carpet so when your finished shortening the wood you can rewrap the end nicely and not have to redo the whole bunk. I wouldn’t leave it like that though, just my luck sorta of thing if you know what I mean. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Betti, just a side note, you may want to check how far your boat is up on the trailer. Your bunk boards are sticking out and may rip off your transducer if loaded kilted. Just something to look at. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Yep Les. Patience will be key. With these temps, fish are all over the place. Don’t leave fish to find fish. If your not marking them find a new spot. Don’t overthink things. You guys know this. Good luck to everyone out there. Be safe. Should be good weather. I’ll be following that whaler out there....... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Yes, thank you Dennis. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I’m in agreement on the 2 person min. It’s not about making anyone feel like there not good enough or experienced enough. We all have stories of the bad examples. We’re talking Lake Ontario I’m assuming. Might be a little different on the finger lakes, not that bad things can’t happen but your zone of safety is completely different than lake o. As far as other tournys like Bass typically Ive only participated in them where riders or non boaters were mandatory. PDFs were mandatory while running. And yes I wear my ignition kill switch when fishing alone when running. I think you have a good idea. Hope something comes from it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Dennis do you happen to have a count of current registrants as of today? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Thanks guys. Gill I’d be lying if I didn’t say was digging through my recent spoon purchases last night to find those color spoons you showed the other day...... every bit helps. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Took a trip up to the big O with Signalman thinking that the Sodus area wasn’t just ready yet for me. Took some tips from Whaler (Thanks) and off we went started in 60 worked out too 100fow. Spoons. Anything with green then to black. 45-70 down. 100 ft on dipsey. Marks were all over the place. Can I just say how nice the water looked...... green........ Went 6-7. Fun day. Hats off to launch folks. They had there A game on today. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. You’ll be so surprised at the difference in actual ball depth to what your DF reads. I’m typically seeing a 8-15ft swing at times with 13lb weights depending on speed n currents. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. Believe it or not my best sushi was an appetizer dish at Applebee’s one year. Some type of tuna. Other than that I’m out! Then again I’m only happy with perch or walleye.... so I don’t do well with fishy taste. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Correct. I would definitely focus on the rice vinegar or other high acidity. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Credit owed for going after it with archery. What a feeling. Plenty of time still. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Not having adequate air psi will kill them quick. They tend to get hotter and breakdown faster. Also check load bearing specs to the weight of the boat. Gross weight could be max. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Damn nice fish. Congrats and as someone said kudos to the camera person and for you to keep it growing! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Looks like sculpin can’t tell if there’s one fin under the belly or not. If it’s two fins it’s a sculpin. If it’s one fin it’s a goby. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Man that will get your heart pumping to get out. Thanks for the report. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  25. Well I can tell you from a phone call I had with his assistant that there wasn’t a 100% confirmed it’s a go as they were having a meeting with updates from government officials next week. I asked what will happen with registration fees paid if it were cancelled, she said more than likely they will go to next years derby. So paying 50.00 x 5 people to have it possibly go to next year, I’ll wait to see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
