Great take Laker 1, Sk8man I learn something new everyday. Must be really fascinating to read your fathers diary. HB2, we all hope we never have have to find ourselves in a situation that causes loss of life but to your point, they made a conscious decision when they entered.....I also hope you didn’t misunderstand my comment with getting behind a bunker didn’t mean hiding like a coward while a stranger ransacked your home while you did nothing. I only meant get behind something to protect yourself in the event they are armed when they crossed the doorway and you let the lead fly. Always have to assume they are armed. They sure enough do. Had to get rid of a brand new tohatsu that almost made my teeth fall out from the vibration. To this day I still think it was a crank or something was bad but they wouldn’t cover it. Traded it in on another merc 8 hp. Life is good now. Not a happy moment for me for me on that. Yea I’m with ya, grab the gun and call 911. Put the wife in safe spot with a phone. Grab a bunker spot in the house so that if entry is made there’s a last ditch effort by this soon to be lifeless person to make the right choice. Always when we’re not in that situation everyone has a different opinion. Which is why I always can learn from this situation. Turning the outside lights on, a good thing. Let’s them know someone is watching. Going outside, not me. Gives them a target. Just me though. Get a Blink system or something. WiFi cameras to put up around entrances and such. There not expensive and will alarm your phone 24hrs a day. Also can watch them on your phone while you sit in your bunker spot.
