  1. I’d say, wind dependent, skip across to the west side south of long point for your silvers. You might need to be 30-50 ft based on temps. Maybe early morning or late evening you might find them up near the surface. 2.5 mph or faster smaller color spoons seem to work well. Area north of Sampson called high banks might have some as well. If perch are still huddled up you can try for them in that 25-40 ft on the edges of the drops out front or a little north of Sampson. Bass is closed till June 15th but you’ll find them similar maybe a little shallower. Watch the wind if your not familiar with Seneca. South or North wind can make it bumpy quick there. Enjoy your vacation.
  2. Ok let me rummage through my stuff tomorrow, I’ll keep you posted. I would still swap boards just to be sure so your not going down a rabbit hole like I did one year. Uggg what memories……
  3. Todd, I have a board that was new if you can’t get one soon enough. Just have to go find it.
  4. Todd, not sure how new they are so your not monkeying with a warranty deal, if that’s not an issue, you could try also swapping boards to see if the problem follows. If it’s not that, check to see if there’s any grounding issues on that particular rigger.
  5. Gill, yes, I leave it to the derby officials first if they want to keep, if not, we generally always release. I do find though that they a fiesty as heck on the scale and more times than not are swimming up the parking lot with the guy weighing trying to grab it 😊
  6. What a slob bow Bill. Good going! Graphite mount?
  7. Well, another year in the books. What a weekend weather wise. Fished all three days with a deep program thinking cold water still had some bruins waiting to come in with the bait. Slow was our best speed. No silvers for us. Caught fewer than I would of liked but they were a solid class of fish. Mostly in the 150-185ft. My son took his top two division spots. Really impressed how my boys are starting to run the boat. My brother on the other hand found his groove pulling wire and found some trophy size fish. Hats off to his crew as they took the top two spots. He’s put many years in that event and is a jerkin wire pro. He knows that North end of the lake like no other. Side notes: All our fish looked great, all released, and only one lamprey came in. Thanks again Steve (Roy’s boys) for the hospitality of Roy’s Marina, Roz and Larry are wonderful people. Congratulations to everyone that placed. Good seeing the friends out on the water as always. We had some funny moments!
  8. Well Bill you were close…. If you would added family to Frogger you took the prize for your bet…..,
  9. Look at Les, breaking out the shiny brass! Lookin good…….
  10. I’m with ya Fish Stix! Someone has to catch the biggest! Not about how many. Think Catch and Release if you can. Updated leader boards is a huge plus so as to not waste a fish. Looking foward to the nice weather this derby.
  11. Still able to put a boat in so I’m guessing we’re doing ok! Have fun at Sampson! gotta luv that French fry comment Hop!
  12. Gonna miss seeing you out there Kevin! Hope all is ok, I do remember the North Enders vs the South Enders once upon a time but when this lake can make you as humble as pie, things get quiet fast.
  13. Shakesman just reminded me on the fuel pump, which is a great suggestion and possibility, not sure if that year or yours has the VRO pump with the fuel and oil. Be careful if you do not to mess with the oil side. If your ever in doubt of use mixed gas. If you already have a regular fuel pump and premix, use shakes and suggestion.
  14. There’s a way to check your CDI electrical pack to see if that’s your issue. I think it’s on CDI electronics website if I remember right. Go through the basics as well with the fuel stuff.
  15. Love those cam pics with the bird and then you with him! Congrats!
  16. Yessss! Those are it Gator! For the life of me I couldn’t find them on line.
  17. That’s a sweet platform, nice work on her!
  18. I have real good luck with adding an inline weight to my 300 coppers, can’t remember the name, they hang on the line and have a plastic insert that snugs it in, has a bend to the lip of the weight. If I remember I’ll snap a pic.
  19. You could also try Boston Gear to see what they might have if you haven’t yet. There pretty good about matching stuff up.
  20. X4. Love mine! Thanks again for the tip.
  21. I think the only way to really know Bill is to reach in there up past your elbow and feel around. There might just be a treasure chest in there ………😀
  22. Had X-16 mounted in the back, loved it when starting out in the am with the fish in the thermocline.
