If it were for bouncing around to find perch, bass, jigging etc that would be plenty I would think. If your using it for trolling, I’d stay with gas, 4 stroke maybe 8 or a 9.9hp. Electric for trolling I think would I be rough on it both the unit and batteries. Just an opinion though Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

I’d probably paint it. It’s really about your comfort level, time you have etc. There’s a lot of ideas out there that are good as well. If you do paint, as suggested, the zinc chromate paint is a must for primer, it’s green. I had a project for a transom that I did, I did the priming sanding work, the auto body shop did the final paint. Came out great. Holding up with no issues, good luck with whatever you do. No matter what you decide, blood and guts will be on it anyways. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Remmington Outdoor company to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Yep. Businesses that can’t or won’t keep up with either market demands, operational efficiencies that keep you competitive from a cost standpoint or are unable to innovate to keep sales pumping are always at risk. All the way from the small shop on the corner to the 100 plants across the country giants. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Great story and way to go on giving back to the environment and taking the time teaching the kids something they’ll never forget. A+ for the teacher! Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

ANOTHER good reason to wear your life jacket
Frogger replied to Sk8man's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I hope we’re not missing the learning side of this, I for one am looking to purchase an auto inflate strap pfd after seeing this video. Too much risk and not much time to react, especially if some other type of accident occurred that is out of our control. Regarding the navigational laws set forth for both inland and international waterways ( and I’m not an expert) this guy in the underway vessel broke several of the rules listed in it. The boat he collided with was engaged in fishing and not under power. The thought that he was somewhat liable for the collision because he didn’t react? Giveaway, right of way, tomato taamato, lesson learned thankfully nobody was killed, let’s use it as a teaching tool not a definition issue. Just an opinion. Nothing more. ANOTHER good reason to wear your life jacket
Frogger replied to Sk8man's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I’ve always wondered why the manufacturers on the auto pilots for recreation (fishing) don’t put a limit on speed when its engaged. Not knowing if that it was a factor in this incident in Oregon but I I’ve heard about close calls with fools running on autopilots while rigging rods and such. There’s just no reaction time. Scary. Have to treat it like your driving your motorcycle when out on the water. Head on a swivel and trust no one. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -

For what it’s worth Anchor Express will beat anyone’s advertised price on line. At least they did when I purchased the Ray Marine EV 100. I like Hodges too. PS I have no skin in the game for them lol. Good luck on whatever you get. It’s definitely been a worthy tool in the arsenal bag. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Could All This Snow Bring High Water Again?
Frogger replied to Todd in NY's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I don’t live on the shore and can’t even imagine if last year happens all over again with the impact to residents, businesses etc. Flooding due to rainfall or Mother Nature events is one thing, two years in a row is unlikely but can happen I get it, the accountability however in my opinion was never accepted. With this trend, id be worried if if I was tied to this branch (IJC). A very risky move with a tremendous impact. I don’t get it. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Ron, it’s out in front of glass factory, south of belhurst, it’s about 100yds wide. Closer to the west side than the middle. Interesting thing when your bouncing the lead with flashers goes from soft mud to a rock I’ve got it saved on my navionics I think. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I still remember someone saying”why are you releasing those lakers every derby, there’s too many of them in the lake a couple of years ago on here”..... my opinion is salinity with caverns. The bottom on the north end has changed dramatically. You have now 210 feet in areas that I used to pull flashers in that were 135ft. Thought my graph was broke one day. But it’s just a guess.
