  1. TJ, thanks for offering up the chance for me to get more information from you. I for one understand the time put in in addition to your normal work. I sure wasn’t looking for an answer today to my questions. Looking forward to reviewing the highlights.
  2. TJ, Based on your meeting results from the Western Zone group recommendations, what were the several different factors that you mentioned the group reviewed? Im interested if if any of the below perceptions / topics were covered; in addition to what the group covered; 1. Continued reduction in funds per # hunters for migratory waterfowl habitat support 2. Continued drop in state rankings for waterfowl hunting 3. Continued drop in sales for state revenue 4. Continued drop in duck hunting groups from NYS and the surrounding states who no longer hunt NY. 5. Balancing of duck bag limits per species based on seasonality climates 6. NYS DEC Wildlife division is focusing on continued growth in hunter opportunities, while the waterfowl groups are personalizing seasons to their benefits and needs thus reducing hunter opportunities. Last question, how is your group defined by having success or an acceptable report card? Is it from within the groups perception that it supports or do you perform statewide feedback or other similar measures that shows the groups positive / negative impacts as a whole? Be interested in seeing those posted. Just looking for transparency. Thanks
  3. Irg, what reason again do you feel the need to remove this? Meaning I read your part where you say it’s plugged but I was thinking it’s because you were trying siphon from it or blow air back into it. Have you tried to pump gas from it like normal with a fuel line bulb?
  4. I’m wondering if it’s an anti siphon device, I think I had one on my tank when I tried to drain it. Can you put a line on it with a primer bulb and pump gas through it when you squeeze the bulb?
  5. Actually they are rated up to 140hp or 1800 total lbs motor, gear persons. I’ve got a 115hp evinrude on mine that weighs 295lbs. That 90 4 stroke Yamaha looks like 320lbs. He’ll be fine. Sharp motor.
  6. Just to add with my limited knowledge on these, take the time to ask or find out about the battery / needs etc you need for your application. Meaning if your looking for a trolling motor batteries only, the charger requirements are different than AGM or Acid etc. if your looking to use lithium for a starter battery make sure it has the CCA needed or bad things can happen. Also need to make sure the lithium system is isolated from the lead acid or AGM system if you have both kinds on the boat. I switched over to all lithium for not only the performance but the weight savings as well. One other thing that I don’t think anyone has mentioned. Charging from your motors. I had to remove my charging coil from my merc 8hp. If my main is fully charged and I start to troll my BMS on the lithium kicks the battery of line due to being fully charged. I decided to do this rather than not fully charge the battery. Not sure if anyone else had this. No concern though with the battery not charging from fishing as it will last days of fishing if I’m using everything on the boat.
  7. Went with Ionic. Love em. Need a meter that reads % not volts. Ionic has the app you can read on phone.
  8. Hell to the ya!
  9. That green frog Les is near and dear to me… love that color
  10. Why single strand copper vs the woven? Would think the later would be easier on the hands and less likely to snap. Braided copper doesn’t get down as fast due to weight or drag. I’ve seen some use it though. Shallower water like 25-40ft will work. Also tends to pick up weeds more so than single. Definitely softer feel to your point though.
  11. Les, I think we should get Whaler up on Lake O this spring in let him try is hand on a big laker……….
  12. Thanks Rick for the instructional video!
  13. Sent you a pm
  14. If speed at the ball is consistent and not crazy and the AP can stay on course I’m comfortable in the wind. Have to keep the ball on point though. Any little thing can wreck havoc.
  15. I’m not sure of how much ice is on the bay / channel. Just be sure to keep your eye out for that south wind. Icebergs fill the channel up and is a sh….t show to get back to the ramp.
  16. Send me a pic, I’m always a fan of a good perch rod.
  17. As mentioned, cheaters will always lose in the end. Good meeting you Rick this past weekend at the Expo. Looks like Krenzer has some good looking rigs.
  18. So I don’t think its needed to be as thick as you think if the stringers are spread out for support and your foam is poured up to it. I’m assuming you have wood floor in it now? Not sure what year they went with aluminum floor, I redid mine so that the new floor had no pedestal mounts in the back but the 93 model had the aluminum floor already. It was two sheets. One for each side of the gas tank in the middle. Ran from splash well box up to just past passenger and driver pedestal mounts. Not sure what thickness. Maybe .120 thick. The joists and foam support it. Glued Nautalix to it. Wouldn’t use that again. Rough on the knees. Durable as heck though. Riveted the sheets to the stringers. Again not sure if your years boat is the same. You sure can take a lot of weight out if you can stay away from wood vs the aluminum but if you can’t wood works. As mentioned though stay away from treated if you can.
  19. 😀Always learning. Especially from Lou and it’s ton of pros on here…..
  20. To all Seneca Lake Fisherman, I hold this Demon high above the future of this lake and commence you to release all of your ill will to your siblings and end the massacre you’ve brought to this lake. In the next sunrise all of you demons will be gone! Mike get the knife, he’s trying to bite me lol. Damn bast……d
  21. Just too add to Les’s, I’ll run offset on each side until I find a distance that works better. The smaller the blade the father back you can go without it dropping and hitting bottom. The faster you go >1.5-1.8 the farther back you can go. Warning though when you get deep >150ft or more the farther back your leads are the more of a tangle you’ll have from the currents that Les mentioned. Find a pattern that works stay with it. I’ve got some tricks I want to experiment with so I’ll fill you in on those May 29th if they work 😜
  22. I know this is probably more than you asked for /cdn-cgi/mirage/bbcd918c8e31f6efe742bb34bcef891048e7c454d38358c3022eca2cbc8be8d7/1280/https://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/uploads/emoticons/default_emoticon-0100-smile.gif but there are a lot of weights of various types on the bottom of Seneca/cdn-cgi/mirage/bbcd918c8e31f6efe742bb34bcef891048e7c454d38358c3022eca2cbc8be8d7/1280/https://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/uploads/emoticons/default_emoticon-0136-giggle.gif Amen to that Les!
