  2. I hope to possibly get in one of those sometime soon, and I see both sides, but as an amateur, ( I don't fish for income) tournaments should be geared towards the participant's and the level they can compete in. If that means its an open division, that means its open to anyone, If tournaments want to have an amateur division, they should have criteria in it that states your just that and no more. Yea I know, if you dont like it don't fish it and that little boats can win big agains big boats, In reality though, the participants and the income of such tournaments is what drives these to be successful. How many amateurs are you losing of not entering vs charter captains ( professionals) of not getting in because they worry about being shamed if they enter the amature division. Probably not too many but that's just a guess. I have yet to get in one and like I said hope to soon, I really am not out to try and show someone up that makes a living doing it nor am I saying I could, I just want to be able to go out have fun, be part of the crowd, interact, and say hey, damn that was cool, Id do that again.
  3. TT, were they from Marion by chance?
  4. I'm with ya Les, plus I'm planning on visiting a lot more different lakes so yea I need to protect the investment. Spoke with Krenzers yesterday and yes very nice people to deal with. Good luck PT on the boat! Ps: went to factory direct up in Ontario and was a mad house. They must sell a ton but I think there in need of more staffing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. Anyone out there that has any experience with this brand of bunk type trailer? Ready to pull the trigger on one or something but have read some poor articles regarding quality / rust on everything but the frame. I realize it might be a lower price but sometimes that might be a good thing. Any information of how its holding up would be much appreciative. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  11. She runs pretty good, haven't opened her up yet with the breakin still going, I'll bet she'll move with all cylinders over sized. Was rough on the north end of Seneca so I didn't open it up this morning. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  13. Well I finally got her done, new steering, auto pilot, new floor. Never thought she'd see water till June. Oh yea motor rebuilt last nov so only had 10 min on before the snow fell. Looks like tomorrow the new floor might see some slime. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I was gonna say it was fully open if your going after trout...... But if you were going after Perch, man, its totally blocked in all the way out to the pier with ice......
  15. Yep, with what everything is said, if that motor hasn't been turned over in years, I sure would be taking the time to psi check it. Also, get your eyes in the transom and floor to make sure its dry. Even if you had to do it just something to take a look at what you could be getting into. Surprises are the issue.
  16. Thanks Les, this trib stuff sure can get deep. Im ready for fishin.
  17. Im not sure that the creek is totally dead, I haven't seen the recent survey numbers but I would say theres still life in that and many other finger lakes tribs. Could there be more done to improve habitat for natural reproduction, always, and with the budget stuff mentioned and the lack there of, I wont go there. I was actually surprised when I stopped by last week after the flea market that the digger dam was completely gone, I know its been years since I was last there to see it, but it was actually kinda strange telling some guys standing there looking over the power station hole what the hole use to look like. In the end though you would be surprised what the fry and parr can do to survive, if they can locate some oxygen and 70 degree water with some good gravel theyll make it to the lake. With the slimy green stuff probably not. Don't get me wrong, Im not disagreeing with you, but I think throwing in the towel is not the right choice. Theres many great ideas out there, we should listentoallofthem. We will however have to accept in the short term either a reduction in what we catch or go after. If we don't, one thing is certain, the numbers are not going to increase on their own. We will then see a reduction but will be at a higher cost because we didn't react soon enough.
  18. I know it would hurt some good businesess that somewhat depend on the Trib fishing but I can't seem to think of anything better right now than to close the streams down for a while . Take some time to rethink current practice. I for one wouldn't mind just watching a pool of trout in a fingerlakes stream for a couple of years. Maybe have no fish zones in some of the majors tribes. Time to take action. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
