Ill go out on a limb to say if the polls were taken from LOU there would of been a different outcome, were not that fortunate though.

I'm a little concerned of not hearing too much on the investigation of this mess. When I first heard about this driving home on the radio, it was mentioned the two shooters were that of the ontario county law enforcement system (not sure what), and that the Livingston sheriffs system is keeping it low key because of it. Mmmmm. If someone has an update not that I or anyone needs names and such but it would be good to know that justice is handed out and not a case of the fox watching the hen house..... You know what would be interesting, not that it would remove argument or change opinion, but if someone could run a poll on here that would identify -#of deer you harvested, fun loving of each, size of rack(points) harvested, size of rack passed by, statically you could get a high level of sense of how many bucks would of made it to next season based on a 1 buck rule vs AR just with a smaller pool of us. For instance you passed on a 6pnter and shot two 8's one with bow one with gun, AR allowed the 6 Pntr to walk but two out of the three were harvested. 1 buck rule would of allowed 1 out of 3 to be harvested. Just an example though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Boy what a topic. I'm a believer of the one buck rule as well, kind of hard to have a system as mentioned earlier that hones in on taking out a good breed of yearlings that the AR program would do. We need adult bucks, 2 1/2 yr olds or older. We need does to be in check, in most areas. Areas that are seeing a 1 -1 doe to buck ratio is not reflective of the actual states herd. Im not saying your wrong I'm just saying your lucky to have a tract with that going on. Right about now is when you get called to the carpet for being a trophy hunter and that anyone should be able to shoot a deer to feed there family....... Yep and I agree. Shoot all the does you want, no problem. If your area is high in deer population where you see 50 deer a day on the stand, should be no problem. Feed your family. But your only going to be allowed 1, that's right 1 buck. This is where we have a hard time accepting. Seems a lot of people don't want to give that up, so we continue to spiral........ Regarding the nuisance permits.... If your a landowner that leaves the corn up the entire season, sorry no permits. You don't allow hunting on your property other than your good ole boy buddies? Sorry no permits. With the guys that live up in the AD, you've got it rough up there, and yes you would be hit the hardest at first truly because you are lacking up there. But after a couple of years I feel you could grow some healthy pops. I sure wish we would follow suit with some other states, we so seem to be behind the times. Your welcome. Bass pro in Auburn did have one for 120.00. It looked like it was worth 10.00. I hope you make out. I left a lot out so I wouldn't tie up the thread but if you have any questions id be glad to help any way I can. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

From previous experience, with damn near almost buying a black box for the same issue mentioned, rigger bites went to nothing. Did some investigating on the matter. I think someone attached some literature as well with how to find if your having the electric bleed into the water. My rig when measured off the cable into the water was giving off 1.3 volts into the water. This with an ohm meter Black neg touching cable, positive lead on the battery. Heres where it gets interesting, unplug the down rigger, get the same voltage after its unplugged. So for whatever its worth, it stayed in the cable. Changed out the board. No Help. Took apart the motor to see if the bushings were shorting on the case. No luck. Called Cannon and found out that the earlier Mag 10as had it in the system but was not advertised. New models have it pasted (Ion control) on the unit. As a matter of fact the pricy models allow you to control (adjust) the voltage, I think Marlins? Not sure but its there now. Purchased 4 new downriggers with the PIC. Volts measure .60 . I guess they say you want to be somewhere around .65 Started catching fish again. My other options were to go to 200 lb Pro Braid for cable, then I risk losing the auto shut off and risk losing a probe and ball. I guess I settled for an excuse needing new downriggers. As far as what others mentioned, my boat is aluminum so I had to take all electronics out, batteries out, and go one for one to find the culprit. They say if you take the leads and place the positive in the water, and the neg on the battery you should read a neutral reading of .67 or so. severely less or more you have a ground issue, or something of that nature. The Black box, apparently they swear by them on the west cost for the salmon, especially the commercial fisherman from what I read. When I looked at them, and saw the amount of work you need to do to run them and use them, I was out. That was just me. I hope in the future that a new color spoon that starts catching more kings turns into "you have to get a black box".........
