  3. So driving into work this morning, noticed as almost every morning, a truck parked from a hunter adjacent to the field. This time however what looked to be a big 8 maybe a 10 walkiing along about 50 yards from his vehicle. That would of made a great Chevy advertisement. I wanted to get a pic but thought I might screw things up for this guy if he was in sight of trying to maybe call to this deer. That deer may have also realized its safer out of the woods than in the woods with how much this guy has hunted that wood lot. Kinda of funny though.

  5. What a slob. You should def get his jaws to someone to age. He might be pushing that 4.5 to older. I love the picture of him standing there plus the size comparison. Congrats!

  8. Sounds strange I know about the bear for an answer, but they are indeed in the lake, and yes the Black Forest is in Germany in which the Bear use to be a common animal residing there, with the diet of eggs, insects and of yes, fish. No need to explain the Chicago Bears Gridiron. All in good fun. https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/srwphotography/6407548321/ http://www.ontariossunsetcountry.ca/acloserlook.cfm/id/12302 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  12. One thing that has come up as a huge question when learning about rattling is how hard or loud to do it. Im not sure who I got this from but it was so long ago, but it was mentioned that when you see a fight actually happen in front of you youll know how to sound. I have witnessed only 2 fights in my hunt career that I could actually see and hear. Not sure if thats a lot compared to others but I can tell you, and they were not monsters, maybe 120-130 class, trees were up rooted and it wasnt soft, and both fights lasted >1-2 minutes with one I was able to harvest. Both fights had yearlings appoach downwind with them spooking the doe that was in the area. It would be interesting to hear of other experiences as it relates to rattling to keep the thread interesting. I think its a cool topic.

  14. Gill, you got it right, that feeling of when that buck comes crashing in right at first light, there's nothing like it. Bassmasters, I've given up rattling on a field, not sure if this was the set up with that 10pnt that didn't come in, but wanted to mention if you don't have a decoy, I think the field setup is against the odds when rattling. Sounds like if you had 15 min more you had a dead deer rattling. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  16. Absolutely works, actually got a nice 8 pointer 2 seasons ago rattling, the thing that I found which is vital is the wind. You have to set yourself up in a win win situation, meaning if they can get behind you where your stand position is they will. Say good bye. But if you set up on a corner or a funnel where they have to stay in cover to come in, game on. I won't be in the woods next week with out the horns! Oh don't forget the grunt tube.
