  6. Thanks for sharing this, I like these types of research. Hard to dispute. It really aligns with the good ole myth of " the rut is going to be early this year". Definitely separates the movement activity vs the actual breeding period topics or disagreements. Good stuff. But it's like the in the ground, you can't win if your not in it or in this case, in the stand. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  11. MD is right on, only thing to add is to be careful of land ownership, some deeds including parks have lake bottom ownership that could get you in trouble even if your anchored in a boat. Remember the lake rules on a navigable water way are totally different if you hunt the creek. Distance from houses etc. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  12. Sorry for your loss Wes. What an incredible son he was. Thanks for sharing that piece of his life with us. I had to watch that video over again. Mike. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I agree too on the wind direction for stand placement. If it's not right you'll loose most of the time. I think we're most of of the time we forget is our foot coverage. I think this is most critical. This is where cover scents has its place. Walk in with a foreign or human scent on your boots and surely you'll be buying wegmans cole cuts for that year. 14. Dan, in recent years you can still go after them on the northern end of Seneca on the drop on that 50 to 100 ft. Once that spawn spark hits though Iike soon, 3 weeks or so? It may be later because I think the temps are unseasonably high still, the fish will be shut down out in the deeps like you said until after. As soon as my powerhead gets back I want to get out there as well. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  20. Agree as well, the recurve is hard on the peak curve as there as no let off as Gill mentioned. There are instruments based on meeting the disable requirements to get for a compound as well that holds the weight at rest once cocked so that your never holding the weight prior to releasing on a deer fyi. I too like the traditional method, and as JTT says it doesnt take much, shot my first buck with a bear 45lb with just the bear razors when I was a kid, had to before I could get a new bow, family tradition, and man, it only went a few yards before he piled up. Those chisel point type broadheads are deadly on wooden arrows.
