Yes you would or you could use check valves. My main feed goes into my water separating filter then on the line to the kicker I have a check valve. But a shut off it a positive confirmation that the line is closed. This will keep your main from sucking air from the kicker.

Outside rod deep inside rod shallow I was told this when I starred stacking and it seems to work. I don't often stack but when I do this seems to eliminate tangles. Not sure if it makes a difference or if it's just an old school idea.

I was at the meeting today and the way that I understood the trawling was to find the 1 year old fish. Not the spawning fish that move in towards shore. They said that during the summer they use sonar technology with computer software to count the breading stocks. I have no opinion on how they do it right or wrong because I am very new to this. Thanks for all the help. With the warm weather I was able to locate the other blown fuse and I have checked all the wires for any damage. All equipment seems to be working well. Hopefully I got lucky here. Just a battery two fuses and the Perko switch. If the weather holds I may get to splash down this Saturday. Just in time for the cold front.

I don't know that side of the lake but jordan to the Niagara bar should have some good fishing. In tight early morning for browns and then moving out as the day warms to find lakers and maybe the odd king. I never fish rainbows really so not to sure where they hide this time of year but I have caught them off flat lines early in the spring. Find some warm coloured water if you can and I am sure you will find the fish no matter the port. Good luck

Well half way there was able to locate the fuse on the motor and have power to the motor now. Everything seems to be functioning on the back end. Still have to figure out the dash and all the lights. But so far nothing seems melted. Hopefully I got lucky

I love spoons but have found that constantly I get my biggest king every year off a spin doctor and a fly. May is still kinda early for that but SD can be deadly out there. As far as spoons go nk was great two years ago and last year my singers and shoehorn spoons were the best for me. Green, white and black seem to be the ticket for kings in my ara port d to Bronte on the Canadian side. Consider flashers and fly or cut bait or Mc rockets for the summer if you make a trip to lake ontario.

I thought the same thing unfortunately no dice. I did findeed a pdf online for the motor. Worst case I can trim the motor manually it looks like and get it to my mechanic. Hopefully though I just popped a fuse or breaker

I will check that out in tomorrow after work. I did see a breaker any where but I will definitely double check in the day light.

All I tried was to trim the motor up. I then tried a few accessories like the lights and nothing I think it must be a blown fuse somewhere... I hope

Thanks I got the power off in less then 5 seconds probably but it felt like 5 minutes. I check the fuse that I have on the inline. Equipment and they seemed fine.

So I pulled the ultimate bone head move and hooked my starting battery to my deep cycle battery through a perko switch negative post to positive. When I flipped the switch it obviously created some fireworks at the batteries. None of the wires melted but the lead Around the treminals was damaged. So I got a new battery hooked it up and nothing. No power... so I figure the switch took a hit and went main feed to the new battery and still nothing. Question is what did I f*@! Up? I am sure there is a main fuse some where but I don't know where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The motor is a yamaha ox66 200hp on a 2002 sea pro. I will be calling my mechanic tomorrow but I am worried that I did some major damage.

I had a 45 with 10 colour on it and it worked just fine. I think 5 colour would fit better on your 30. Powe pro 50# backing is how I have my cores and coppers setup.
