  1. Launched out of Treman at 6 am. Had a hot air balloon launch out of Stewart Park got some neat pics, the guy yelled down for me to send em to his email, so I did, amazing what ya can do with a phone these days. Saw Mike, iron duke at the dock, sorry didn't recognize ya bud, we were all bundled! Thanks for the tip on the Lakers, they were there RWA. Hit 15' to start and got a really nice Brown to the boat but I messed up the net job being solo. Had some really big fish feeding around me and lost one other big fish half way in. The small salmon were everywhere, tried to release em all carefully but two had hooked themselves in the eye.. Took Mikes advice and hit some Lakers out in front of salt plant. Gold Carmel dolphin with iron duke "dressed to kill" fly out fished the UV fly today 3-0. On the way back took a "screamer" hit on a ten color with orange and gold spoon, dropped him too! Way to nice a day not to fish! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  5. Yes, we landed a fish on it earlier, had the piggy on for a bit and couldn't budge it, took drag with 30lb line on a upgraded tuna Tom convector when it shook its head I felt it give... Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Of the two we caught this weekend one had six large alewife and two gobies or sculpin hard to tell too digested. Other guys were saying they were coughing up gobies so yes the bait was deep but the fish I caught were ready for one more morsel! The fish with the gobies had a real nice orange color to the meat. 9. Just a thought when you rig these UV extravaganzas don't use smaller cheap snap swivels, like I did, lost a very large Laker Sunday during FLTA tourney, lesson learned! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Thanks Mike! UV extravaganza kicked butt today off a mag dipsy! The fishing was tough at Seneca today. Back at it tomorrow Flta. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. That is one cool dog! That mixed breed of the red bone n walker is exactly what I'm looking for in my next tracking dog.. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Go half way up the lake drop stuff deep and fish the middle... oh the Lakers are huge too! Edit: But the water in that lake warms up quick so the bait may be starting to move shallow. So south end will be hot soon, but if the temps are still in the low 40's try the deepest parts Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I got hammered in himrod once, or was it loaded in Lodi!!??? Can't remember.. Cool name! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. May run this one ( the SD in pic above) on a ten color lead core or 2-300' copper. But usually run 14' 30lb leader from #1 or mag dipsy to SD. Then hand line them to the net. From the SD to fly that's a matter of opinion, but anywhere from 18"-36" for mine. As for line usually 30lb big game, but lots of guys run 50lb floro for its stiffness (changes action of fly) and strength (salmon). If off a rigger then 8'-14' off ball. As for holes in SD the ones it comes in, or the most action. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Here's a theory, when the lake is flat calm and clear a plain spoon will reflect a mirror like light at the fish " almost too bright" With the hammered it breaks up the light as it would with a choppy surface. There have been many days out that were flat calm that produce very little whereas a little chop the bite seems much better. I think it's light transmission into the water and how it hits the spoon.. But I've been wrong before:lol: Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  24. I really love the balance of colors Mike made up, the purple really has been a hot color in clear water and this fly has just the right amount of it, as you can tell I can't wait to run it! That setup works well on a few fingers with the small spoon behind a spinny, or bells. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
