Well I've been a part of this great site for three and a half years now. I want to say thanks so much for all the great guys n gals that have shared their fishing knowledge. As a kid in the 70's n 80's fishing was to me a huge endeavor that only the "old guys" knew about and for me I was hooked when one of my friends dad took me trolling for the first time. His paper graph was so cool and we caught fish, big fish too. I could have saved years of failure if this site was available back then. My learning was because of luck or failure. I still have lots of things to learn but this site has an amazing brotherhood that I have learned from and am hooked on. Thank you to the originator! Thank you to all the great fishermen that share their posts. Happy New year and catch em up in 2016! John Wild Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

One more time into the breach boys! Launched at Taughannock around 11:00am met a few nice guys that headed south so I went North. First fish was a 22" LL on a five color core with a FLT purple alpha alewife. Stayed deep 200-380 most of the day. Scattered bait in its deep winter pattern down 200-240' lots of small salmon in wolf packs! Had several doubles with the little guys. Finally found a few Lakers above 130' dropped one and landed one on the usual custom paddle and blue uv fly. Ran the rigger down 150-220'. Was out in 365' of water and the rigger took a big shot, I hit something submerged and lost my shark weight, Dam! Water was very low to launch at TG. Stay right going out under bridge. The other guys did well in shallow and caught a big brown that they released, cool.. Until next year fish!.... Two for the table, yum!! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

That's great info guys, I have read that the finger lakes are fed by many underground springs. The water temp of the springs should be 55 degrees, no? Wikipedia says that Seneca has springs feeding it 328,000 gallons per minute and that because of its depth it stays at 39 degrees throughout the year. So my theory that the bait stays down because they are safer in the dark may be off but I'm sticking with it, lol! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I believe that it's a dual push for the deer. First during fawning season the safest place is near homes because of the coyotes. Second the hunters decide to start tromping into the woods leaving scent everywhere. The deer not only learn where too survive but the ones that do survive teach their fawns to live near homes where death hasn't occurred. My problem this year was not only leaving my property alone but when I did go into the "kill zone" I find a pile of yotes and few deer. So if there we any trappers out there close to Danby NY and want an extra place to trap send me a PM Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The stern mounted one I have has an adjustable shaft length. It simply slides up to run shallow. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
