Launched out of Taughannock at 7:30 cruised to Milliken set up shop. Had the lake to myself! The dink salmon were there and I didn't mark any suspended active fish so I continued North. Ran a ten color and two riggers. Started marking fish down 120-150 so I sent down the Flt custom paddle with a minion DWB fly. Very slow on that setup especially when you are dragging a tiny Laker probably for an hour, lol. Picked away most of the morning two small browns, three bows 3lbers. and three Lakers, perfect eating size. But my best catch of the day came out on front of Taughannock. There was a boat floating toward shore with the motor cover off. Well I would have had time to get into a tree tonight but these nice folks needed a tug to Myers. So it was a fun day and hopefully they pay it forward to someone else someday. No fish pics but couple of others. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I decided to do a mid day sit next to a know hole up area. Sure enough right at noon a small six gets chased out of the bedding area nice shooter 8 grunting and weasing on his tail. He stops at 50 and watches the little guy walk right by me. He returns to his doe giving her a calming grunt. Ten minutes later Mr 4 pt crashes the party only to get sent right by me too. So now I wait, rain may be the only bad thing coming... BTW these deer are bedded within 100 yds of a house and 60 yds of a road. I can hear the guy coughing and banging stuff. Find the spot with thick cover away from the rest of the deer herd. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Nice, I waved thought that was you! Seems like those fish are there every year. We should have a great LL salmon fishery if all those little guys make it to adults. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Great job this year Joe! Not many fish as hard as you. Congratulations on your high overall finish in the year long FLTA. You're a tenacious one! Not many guys quick thinking enough to add water to their boat to get it under the Taughannock bridge! We'll be gunning for you next year! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Launched at Taughannock at about 7:30. Headed North and set up shop right down the middle. The weeds and leaves were annoying but avoidable. Launched my new to me FLT custom painted paddle with a minion DWB fly on a mag dipsy it wasn't in the water five minutes and boom fish on! , fish off.. The small salmon were everywhere! Found some active fish in 222' near Milliken. Fished most of the day, landed 4 Lakers, two small bows, one small brown and I lost count on the dink salmon. Dropped two other Lakers and a board burying fish that I couldn't get to in time (fighting a Laker). I'm sure that was the silver I was looking for. The Lakers were down 100-140' and if you got a FF down to them they were willing to play. The fish I kept were totally spawned out. Hot spoon color was orange and gold and a small silver and purple. Picture of the biggest Laker that I released. Thanks again Minion! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

FLTCo Spoons- The " must have" spoons?
Nautitroller replied to FishingTheFL's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Very true Les. I would say that the action of the spoon is directly related to speed. So I wouldn't be running a small NK at 1.8 it won't flip. But running a few thin flutter spoons at that speed would be the correct action. I like Jason's lures (fingerlakes lure co.) and run them a lot. Having options that may fit the fishes mood is the key in having a well filled box of spoons, quick fish, ff's, stickbaits, and whatever else you may run. Test a lure before you run it one of the best pieces of advice I got was to get that Sutton to go dodge, dodge, flip. Killer on the fingerlakes Lakers. Those are some really high quality photos. You will always know it's him by the white mark on his front right leg. He definitely put on some acorn weight. Also his winter coat looks perfect too, pretty deer. Anyone else think it's a two year old? His nose is really long. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
