The red head and the younger boy aren't my kids, the older boy is a friend of my sons and the younger boy is a friend's kid. My son is in Pensacola finishing his advanced training in the army. He should end up in Maryland. I'm proud of both of them! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Launched out of Taughannock at 6 am did not move a rod till 8:30, wow! Debris in the middle of the lake was bad. Hit the east shore and headed North, BAM a double two plump Lakers one on 5 color core and one on 7 color. Continued North only murky watered and not much bait. Headed toward Kidders and wow the reports were right on lots of small lakers in the top 30' fished till 11:30 and started pulling lines when the rigger peeled off drag, nice bow. Took two younguns with me today. The older is shipping out to the Marines next week and the younger was just bored and wanted to go! Fun had by all! I'll say that it's a great group of gentlemen that talk softly and fish like pros! It's a lot of fun trying to keep up with them. Learning the lakes is probably the best part of the competition, but getting to fish with these guys is an honor. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Wife n I fished hard in the blowing south wind, went 6 for 10 and dropped a screaming drag fish that I believe was a nice bow. Our highlight was a young buck swimming from East side to west, like he was admiring the other side of Owasco and decided to take a swim. maybe his mom kicked him to the curb, gotta make room for the new little ones. Looking forward to Cayuga! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

what kinds of spoons and flies
Nautitroller replied to wishinfishin's topic in Tackle and Techniques
Break out the wallet and buy every color in the spectrum and then every size you can imagine. Spoons, flies, flashers, peanuts and don't forget stick baits, not to mention rods reels ect.. or just charter for the next ten years it would be cheaper! The lake has been messed up for temp. The fish have been off and unpredictable. Few more degrees and the bait will set up and game on! Find the right spot for temp and you will catch a pile. When the bait is super shallow the fish are easy to spook especially with the clear water kinda like how Brown fishing on Ontario gets bad without muddy water. Cannot wait to get back out... Got it, just have to say that the owner of the south shore marina has always been great and helpful. The fishing though on that Lake is no good, that's why I drive right past Cayuga and Seneca to go there... :D Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Set out at 7 am in hopes of hooking up with an eye or two, well after a few hang ups and a very blank screen I decided to just fish for trout. No sooner than pulling into 130' the seven color with a reef runner buries 7.5lb Laker. Released her thinking she was too big for the grill. Ended up missing most of the early bite, marked lots of big fish very deep, bait too. Found some bait and worked the area for a while, landed one nice brown and three Lakers. Dropped two other crazy browns behind the boat... Missed being out for the Laker Derby but got a nice fix and dinner for a few friends. Also picked up a 2lb ball and six alpena diamonds with tons of swivels. If you can identify the alpena colors (custom painted many years ago) I left the ball at the south shore marina. lol!
