  2. Mothers makes a alum and mag polish that says its safe for all metals, stuff works great. I have bought old lures and brought them back to new condition, you can get it at any auto parts store. Like Les said clean em up after. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. The bait will stack on the bottom in the south end of the lake, 220-260 fow this time of year. When temps hit high 40's game on for the south end, till then fish are deep. Mag dipsy n ff and riggers run 120 to 175' down will catch fish now. The warm up this week should get bait off the bottom. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. Les you forgot to mention that every fish you catch is sooo big that it takes longer to reel it in than it takes for the ball to come up, Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  12. The bait starts to pile up in the middle of the lake just North of the drop this time of year usually 260 fow or so. Lakers sit on top of em but debris can be bad if you get a south blow. run a mag dipsy with FF or rigger down 120 or more, won't be long those bait fish will be moving in to spawn! 14. Buddy of mine didn't move a rod on Cayuga today too, the switch in wind seemed to turn in the bite at Owasco today it was about 1:30, beautiful day out there. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Launched at the south end marina and I must send out a thanks to the gentleman who works there, or owns it.. he helped me launch since I was solo, it was appreciated. I stopped at KH redemption and got some fat heads. Tried several spots for perch without luck. Started trolling with surface temperatures at 36.5 nothing in shallow so I hit mid lake headed North, the screen looked awesome 170 fow was the ticket, when the wind switched out of the south the bite turned on like a light switch. First Laker came on a 5 color lead core with a mixed veggies spoon. Everything I put out took a shot or two with lots of soft hitting fish. Largest Laker was 9.5 smallest was 6 lbs. Fun afternoon and the only boat on the lake. Hot spoon was a pirate that can be seen in pic. The water was green and visibility was poor. Thus I used the brightest lures I had. Also a old Miller spoon size 44 1/2green was hot, used as a cheater. Released all but the smallest fish. Dunno where the perch are..?? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. Good luck, our birds are a few weeks behind. Post your results. I had a chance to go ( but didn't) to Ohio quite a few years ago to visit with call maker Marlin Watkins he makes a killer box call! I have one that he personalized.. he would be mad if he knew I just keep it for looks cause it has a killer sound. He makes a replica of Neil Costs box. 18. I agree, and hopefully my comments weren't taken as a bash in any way because I call em how I see em, but again I'm just one voice on a family friendly forum I enjoy reading. So debate is healthy done in a mature tasteful manner. I just wondered if you realized that my previous comments about being a naysayer is what I have observed over many different posts PS... my wife thanks you for your kind words about teachers. 19. Rol I think you miss my point, its the kids that aren't taking the test are skewing the overall results and that looks bad for our hardworking teachers. We live in a very poor area and many of the parents could care less if their kid passes or not. The parents that are opting out are inadvertently hurting the teachers efforts. Using our kids as a political leveraging tool is not what we should be doing. Instead we should be supporting our teachers by getting more involved at the local level of your school board meetings and maybe if you have kids open up a better communication channel with their teacher. The teachers love their students and these kids are our future. If you want my political opinion, hopefully we raise a kid that turns out as a better governor than Cuomo. Just curious why do you jump on every post that speaks negatively against liberal politics? This is certainly a conservative forum we all love the outdoors, water conservation, and definitely fishing. I am not on liberal based sights trying to get hydro fracking passed. So why would you want be the naysayer?? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. I would hire the one who did not take them, I would base my opinion on work ethic, willingness to learn and those qualities have nothing to do with this test. The parents are the ones opting the kids out, not the kids. My wife teaches and the parents that are opting their kids out are typically college grads that see the idea of standardizing a test just to try to bring all kids to a certain level is just ludicrous. The teachers are going to suffer because the kids that are opting out are typically the smarter kids, thus the teachers score cards suffer and they potentially can lose their job. Backwards is backwards... the answer is not standardized tests but more attention to individual kids through a better student to teacher ratio. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Very impressive Jason! Good luck to your little ones, going off to schools of fish getting bit! Sounds like the college I went to!! Colors and finish look great! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
