Late launch from Myers, 11am decided to run after silvers only, buddy ended up not going with me so it was a solo trip. Found scattered bait 30 to 60 down in 300-380 fow set up one rigger and two lead cores, sog was 3.0 to 3.8 almost waking... in no time started picking a few landlocked salmon on my cheater on rigger parked 50' down. Gold scorpions with multi colors was hot. Had favorite small FLT alpha alewife take a vicious hit landed a 3.5 lb bow. (5 color core) ended up catching 8 salmon one bow and two Lakers. dropped two drag screamers think one was a bow, he just crushed it came at me turned sideways and off... boxed this ll in picture 22" overall not bad having jet skis go over my lines and dodging sail boats did not seem to slow the fishing! Oh and I send a thanks out to the ladies that applauded my one catch on big grey boat just north of Taughanock!! See ya all on the ninth for the light house Derby Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have found that lead cores have good days and slow days on Cayuga. Dipsys size number one or magnums with a 8' to 15' lead with a spin doctor and fly produces many fish... speed is key somedays they like it faster up to 3.2 sometimes varying speeds is key. If I run two lead cores off inline boards I try two different leader lengths, also do small S turns. Another secret I do on Cayuga is to run only one ff set up on my downrigger the other rigger is always a spoon just above but a bit further back from ball... hopes this helps! Also do not be afraid to run an all white smaller spoon (dirty white boy) on your cores bows love em! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Mag dipsy tangling help
Nautitroller replied to Custom Deluxe's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I hear ya, it is something I have been on the fence about.... to snub or not to snub, kings pull much different than Lakers and what line are you using to your dipsy, stainless, braid ,(Mono is just a long snubber...) preferences... Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Mag dipsy tangling help
Nautitroller replied to Custom Deluxe's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Really... are you of the school of thought that believes it gives too much slack to fish resulting in fish getting off??? This is a topic that is very debatable lol! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Mag dipsy tangling help
Nautitroller replied to Custom Deluxe's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Is it the clicker letting line out too fast? also a snubber behind dipsy makes it harder to spin. Good luck Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

We had a great weekend caught over 40 fish Saturday with a rare for me grand slam on Cayuga. Dropped two fish that would have been in contention, one was well over ten maybe even 15 but the story goes ..."the ones that got away!!! " Saturday was also a break everything day, boat seat, pole, fish finder, bilge pump.... not as bad a day as live bait fishermen that drove boat off with winning Brown on stringer(saw pic, huge!)... gone! ouch! Sunday took out a buddy's 12yr old son, what a blast, boated a pile of Lakers but the silver's weren't biting for us. Overall a great day with over 25 Lakers boated. Hot lures for the weekend were sd Seneca special white fly, FLT custom paddle with green ITO fly, flutter spoons on cheater alpha Alewife green parked on thermocline 45' all took fish. Big difference for us was speed, lots of it! 2.8-3.2 lots of Lakers and lots of silver's! Pic of Kade and his youth 1st place fish! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I concur on the moon phases, I am worried about this weekend if it is clear at night this weekends fishing will be tough! Bright moon.. especially before sunrise fish feed at night! Keuka is loaded with Lakers, if the bite is off is off...... Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Does any of the manufactures use metallizing with pure aluminum in a vacuum chamber? I believe the coating can be top coated to make it more durable. I used to run machines that coated plastics and metal parts, comes out like a mirror finish depending on your substrate. It is much cheaper too....
