Maybe it's just me but I tend to get bigger fish on the f/f than spoons. Only been out a coupe times this year but have got 4 fish over 20 pounds and all on flasher and flies.
For 1 dipsy I tend to run a number 2 set. If I run 2 per side a 1 and 3 setting will work. And yes I have had better luck if they are different sizes but have got away with the same sizes as well. Good luck
Not sure how much you are looking to spend but I run the shimano tekota 600 with a line counter. They run around $185 but work great. As far as a pole just about any dipsy pole that is 9' will work. I would recommend probably a medium heavy action rod.
We fished from 165 to 290. The best was around 240. 300 cooper hot early with a spiny and fly and then the riggers with spoons worked good in the afternoon.
making a trip out to ohio on a late season muzzle loader hunt. was wondering if anyone has ever hunted dillion wildlife or woodburry wildlife. Any info is appreciated, thanks
Tried using cut bait this weekend but could not get it to stay together. When I put a fresh piece out it would work but after an hour it would fall apart. Wondering if anyone has a brine or tips to have it hold up a little better. Thanks
