  1. Electric...you won't be sorry....do you have a wire dipsy rod? They really produce. It seems somedays they wont even look at a down rigged spoon but hammer those wire dipsy's.
  2. I go by depth(not sure if this is technically correct but it works)Deep lakers=white or chrome with green dot spinny... up in the thermocline=mountain dew crush.
  3. Did you weigh that pig?
  4. If they come out with something to feed the chickens we will know for sure...huh Bobby?!?! LOL
  5. Exactly what pap said...
  6. Used electric...
  7. Prize box results anyone?
  8. Now that's what I'm talkin bout....
  9. Any given corner of the boat can be a bit better especially on turns because of speed and current issues. Don't be afraid to mess with the rod while trolling...bring it up let it down . Don't forget about blow back if you are wanting to fish right on the bottom. It does not hurt to run that sinker right in the mud stirring things up....that drives lakers crazy...have you ever tried pulling copper? If you want to out fish somebody look into an old Victoria rig!!!
  10. The11 pound brown in the pic to the left was landed on a seth green leader of fluorocarbon.(very little stretch) Dont forget you need to turn into a human " DRAG" when hand lining these big fish in. If he wants to run let him...then work on gathering him back up little by little....then it may be time for another run. This fish ran 4 times before getting the net. Oh and another thing....leave the Vanish on the store shelf......
  11. Yeah Sk8man has got it...Fish on..... These things are not quite as nice a Berts but they work well and they look good. Nice prices and honest people. When you call them you will get the owner on the phone.
  12. Google Fishon sports
  13. Big weenie real hooked up in the thermocline and Seneca ghost...way down deep!
  14. Just so you don't get confused Troutman 87 and Harvey O'Hara are the same guy
  15. Search Troutman 87 or Harvey O'Hara. You can't beat his weights.
  16. Best of luck Ed! Bring home that 16 pounder!
  17. Hey Ed,...If ol kingerboy comes up missin some day don't worry to much.... I have a big juicy T bone waiting for him........he will tell me where those 12.5lbers are....
  18. Went to the east side and splashed down about 5:15 am...2 misses right off the bat.... the weeds were the worst I have ever seen. Pulled everything up unloaded a crazy amount of junk and headed for the west side. Attempted to find bait out deep...found a bit in 220' but nothin hittin. Headed to my trusty old honey hole and bang...35' rigger ...fish on...nice brown...back in the drink. Trolled a bit more then decided it was time to transform into tube-ing mode for the kids. Started in toward the lakehouse when the 35' rigger fired again...was reeling in something that felt familiar in February not June...I saw orange fins coming... perch...that one is heading for the freezer!!! I think there IS something about lousy first light fishing after those bright moonlit nights. What do you guys think? Should I have gone out a bit later....say 10:30 or so?
  19. Yeah...you do have more line than normal between you and the fish.
  20. Gambler makes it a more clear I guess...anywho..Theoretically no.... the slider will slide down to the other swivel and everything will come in clean....In the event you do not get a fish on and you are ready to bring your rod with a slider back to the boat bring it in slow till the slider has made contact with the other swivel.....otherwise you may have a whole lot of untwisting to do.
  21. A slider is a piece of mono or fluoro with a snapswivel at each end.(length depends on opinion...6 or 8 ft or longer) Snap a spoon on one end and snap the swivel(other end) around the line from your rod tip to the release at the end of your rigger cable. This lead will slide 50% to 70% down your line distance and will create sort of a seth green or thermocline rig if you will.
  22. I second Nicks post from experience. Could not figure out why the wire was wrapped around the release. Anywho make sure you let it out ON A DRAG!!!
  23. Are you sure it was fleas not cotton? The cotton has been brutal this year.
