  1. took a good buddy out sunday on otisco his stepdad had never fished on a lake before, only streams and the ocean what turned out a slow day jigging for walleye, turned out pretty exciteing for him, caught his first smallie, and it was a jumbo had a little extra excitement bringing it in, it was hit hard by a tiger, both sides were tore up pretty good,
  2. great job buddy, sounds like a great day
  3. good job buddy, sounds like an epic day
  4. Justin, great report, and great weekend fishing those kids will remember this forever
  5. that's a great stringer, congrats
  6. http://cayugafisher.net/ he goes by Hermit on here, he's got what you want, and a great guy
  7. congrats kevin, that's some good eating
  8. no bait on the surface we could find, we did mark huge bait schools, deep 10 to 12 foot down over 20' we never caught a fish shallow, all the fish came deep, pulling jigs through and around bait schools
  9. hey Justin, it was nice to finally meet you last night, we fished until around 1:30, and not an eye to be seen bass were semi active for us we caught a couple decent fish, and one catfish that put up a hell of a fight, and really surprised me
  10. I was listening to the radio and heard a song about instant gratification, it made me thank about this post everybody wants instant success, however that's not how it works the big thing everyone seems to miss, from all the posts, is just how much time you guys put in, and just how much work you guys do to get over the hurdle, if someone has 20, 30, 40 posts showing fish, don't think about the fish, think, man that guy is putting in the work, he's out there 20,30,40 nights kevin and Justin and many others on this site, you guys give enough information, to take years and years off the learning curve, I know personally i'll never be able to repay Hermit for all he's taught me I just want to say thank you all for sharing so much,
  11. congrats sounds like a good night, and some good eating
  12. thanks buddy the lack of fishing is not healthy, the surgeon general recommends at least 2 fishing trips a week hope you can find some time, the lighthouse derby is next Saturday, at Meyers, you thinking about getting in
  13. Hi Alec, how have you been buddy, it's a blast, I haven't been out much, but getting some free time now, and loving it, hit Cayuga last weekend and picked up a couple decent lakers
  14. Justin, thanks for the tip, i'll give it a go this weekend
  15. thanks pro-fish, love that spot I spend a lot of time jigging lakers on Cayuga, however there's something special about this lake, my favorite for sure
  16. absolutely awesome fish, congrats
  17. Justin, the topwater bite is a rush for sure, those drops and points on the west side are incredible one of my favorite things to do, is sit outside the dropoff, pitch my jigs in shallow, and work the jig, over the dropoff i'll definatly be out there this weekend,
  18. I agree, I'm a firm believer in being on the water while it's still dark in the AM, I love watching the sun come up with a pole in one hand and a coffee in the other my wife however, isn't getting out of bed before 7 haha, unless it's deer season, so I get a few mornings solo, and a few night fishes in
  19. I don't run live bait on the paddle tails, it messes up the action, I do run worms and minnows on fluke bodies, they go together like peanut butter and jelly these fish came off a ledge at 20', normally I watch the FF like a hawk, however when the whole family is there my wife steals the bow, trolling motor and control of the boat, I'm in the back untangling lines LOL
  20. great report, It seems I always have better luck at night,
  21. I know trolling is a better option on otisco, however I never caught the trolling bug, so Otisco jigging it is for me , this last weekend proved to be a good one, landed one nice walleye, and dropped another at the boat all fish caught on 4" silver and black paddle tails and when the walleye bite is slow, the bass will keep you busy
  22. the results are posted on their website, lakertaker, I saw that fish landed it was a beauty, kudos for throwing a 1,500$ fish back
  23. pics didn't load, but that copper laker was a beauty yesterday
  24. it's good to here someone is catching them, hope all goes well with the boat i'm hoping to have a few fish tracked down for the salvation army derby getting close now
  25. thanks fish on, how have you been making out? putting some big ones on the deck? the boats been moving a lot, every time the wife has to mow...LOL it sure did feel good to get out
