HUGHES / OAK ORCHARD
BIGFISH96 replied to bridget's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
We launched at Hughes this morning at 730 set up in 140fow heading east, slowly got to 105fow and started marking caught 1 mature king and 1 steel head both around 100fow left at 11:30. So it sounds like you might have had a little more excitement but not a bad trip for us. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

St. Lawrence River
BIGFISH96 replied to boggle's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
A few smallies was usually a average day for us when fishing the st. Lawrence around Alex bay area. Also we would troll during the day for walleye 25-40 feet depths deep diver reef runners usually land a couple keepers maybe a pike\ Muskie will hit. Jigging bucktails at night on shoals is good for a eye or two or a sheephead. Haha good luck purple is a good color choice Sent from my LGL39C using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Your cylinders get used to what ever oil you are running in them it is not the best thing to switch from synthetic to non synthetic or vise versa. Certain additives in the different oils do not mix well. Best to find out exactly what previous owner was running. Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Launched from bear creek around 6:30am trolled west hooked up in about 12 feet. Kept going west hooked up again around same depth same size fish few pounds. Turned around in front of the power plant headed east and hooked up with a fatty once we passed bear creek. Did a few more passes back and forth to power plant no more hits... so kept going east and got 2 more with a lot of dead time in between got back to launch at 2:15pm Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

we launched at hughes marina this morning around 5:15 went east and started in 130FOW worked 150-190 for a while and got a 18lb king around 6:45. turned west after we hit sodus and a few hours later while checking the lines a little 1 pounder was on our biggest fly set up wasnt even strong enough to release off the downrigger. sorry to hear about the stinky skunk. not sure how the weather is going to be tomorrow might be able to get out again.
