  1. Thats a big one there. Nice work.
  2. Ive always liked octopus and shark tattoos, thats some nice work.
  3. It was about 45 minutes. Im definitely back to him for another lure in the future.
  4. I got this firetiger rapala tattoo last year. Im looking for some inspiration for my next one and I want to keep it fish themed. Credit to Mike from Floating Lotus in Clarence
  5. Thanks for the quick replies guys
  6. Dream Weaver lemon ice magnum was my MVP. Green Gator and Die Hard should get an honorable mention though.
  7. Just wondering what they could be, they were suspended about 10 feet off bottom with the odd fish on bottom. I figured browns or lakers. Just looking for some input before I dedicate any time to fishing them.
  8. We all have more to offer than just fishing information/advise. Thats sort of what im saying. My truck is as important as my boat because I trailer to every launch. If I have a truck issue Id rather solve it here than some other forum.
  9. Well, this sounded like a good idea after a few beers last night, but as I sit on the bank of the Niagara river it seems dumber now. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Haha man no politics and i want to stay on LOU. Politics are already all over the place on here, its too much. I just would like a place to talk about anything not related to fishing. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Im sitting here reading posts and watching football, go saints, and I see posts asking about beer and fund raising which is awesome. I was just thinking that we should get a new section where we can talk about beer, football, hockey, fundraisers and any non fishing related stuff. Sort of a BS section on the forum. Sort of like the comics corner but everything is open to discussion. I dont know maybe im crazy but it would be nice to talk about something beside fishing every once in a while, especially from November to February. 12. Ill add that i use a drift sock and my trolling motor to hold the boat over fish. If you have both of these you can get away with lighter jigs. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I jigged for lakers this summer a few times. I started out with 2 oz jig heads and a 5 inch swimbait. Those are good if there is light wind. For a stronger wind I ordered a couple of 5 oz jig heads and put a 7 inch swimbait on. The lakers will crush either. White and pink were my winning colors. I fished with and without a stinger hook and it didnt matter much, depends on if you get a bunch of short strikes or not.
  14. Launched at 330 and headed around the fort into 15 feet of water. Worked jointed rapalas on planer boards for an hour with some hits but nothing stuck. Ran back to the front of the fort and caught a nice male steelhead on a rubber minnow with a half oz jig head in 39 FOW. Ended up landing four bass after that. Saw a few salmon jumping and some browns on the surface. Got back to the launch at 7.
  15. I got it but dont want to ruin the fun! 😄 Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Where did you get these from? Id like to grab a few. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I know that the DEC can only do so much and they do a good job with what they have. Funny you mention cormorants because I see a lot hanging around Wilson and Olcott in the early spring and then they almost completely disappear by June. I never made the link that it when the cormorants are around there are pens full of salmon and trout in the harbor.
  18. All I know for sure is that we cant change anything by bickering at each other, we all want the same thing. More fish and more of those fish making it to maturity. The question that needs to be asked is what can the average salmon fisherman do about it seeing as the DEC isn't doing much?
  19. Ive caught tons of sheepshead on the bar and up the river as far as art park. There might be some shore access from Fort Niagara State Park but Im no too sure. Art Park has decent access just beware of the water rising. it happens extremely fast. You can also check out the New York Power Authority fishing platform.
  20. Tons of jumpers out this morning and lots of what I believe were trout feeding on the surface. Ended up with a bass and a sheepshead. The salmon are there, just not willing to cooperate.
  21. If Olcott doesnt work head over to the Niagara Bar Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
