  1. I got this recipe from the Consummate Sportsman on youtube. Ill add the link to my post. Take your salmon filet and put it in a container such as Tupperware or a glass cooking pan. Coat the fish in brown sugar then pour soy sauce over the top until the brown sugar is soaked. Put it in the fridge and marinate for about 4 hours, spooning the marinade over the fish every hour. Coat your grill in non stick cooking spray and put on medium heat. Cook meat down for 5 minutes then quarter turn the fish and let cook for 4 more minutes. Flip the fish over so its skin side down and cook for 5 more minutes then check to see if its done. I tried this for the first time last week and it was awesome. It smelled like a marshmallow while it was cooking and had a sweet yet tangy taste to it. I am making this again tonight it was so good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDISkf5TzXE
  2. Awesome, looks like a lot of fun!
  3. Ive been buying 20 to 30 new spoons, flashers, spin doctors and flies every year but, I keep going back to the same thing every time. Dreamweaver Green Gator and Lemon Ice spoons. Blue Dolphin and Mountain Dew spin doctors, and silver or green flashers. Sometimes I buy silver spoons and put some green tape on them just to replicate the Northern King spoons I had four years ago. I always run atleast one green colored lure every time Im out. But as NickR said speed and presentation plays a huge role in catching fish. Keep playing with speed, color and depth until you get a pattern going.
  4. Just wondering if anyone keeps a log of their salmon and trout catches. I keep one as a reference point for upcoming seasons. Some of my buddies think its odd but I think its nice to have something to refer too. I take info such as water depth, surface temp, time of day, downrigger depth, dipsy length, speed and lure used. It was nice to look at the document and see that 2015 has been my best year for numbers but the size of fish is lacking.
  5. What a crappy way to end the year, I figured you would end it with a LOC fish lol Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  9. Launched at 5 solo, marked fish from 40 to bottom. Screen was constantly full of big hooks and bait. Ran two mag spoons at 50 and 60. Lemon ice on the 60 rigger did all the work. 80 to 100 FOW was all I worked. After loosing my net two weeks ago ive been using the tiny one in the picture, its too small to say the least. Fish was the biggest of the night at 18 LBS. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. They are getting hard mouths our my hooks arent sharp enough!! Still plenty of good fishing left and plenty of time to get up here!!!\
  11. I swear by shark weights, they track straight and are thick enough not to bend or twist. Atlantics are not that common, but it is possible, a lot of guys on here end up pulling in one or two a year by mistake.
  12. Worked 70 to 90 feet of water hard today, Had meat rigs, mag spoons and spin docs. Had a screamer on a dipsy 250 feet out on a 2 that took the line counter to a little over 900. Ended up breaking it off when we couldn't stop it and I couldn't clear lines and turn the boat towards it fast enough. Ended up 1 for 8. The big fish are definitely showing up in close. Fish finder had a ton of big marks but not too much bait.
  13. Awesome fish man, and an unforgettable experience.
  14. Good luck out there Ruff Rider, I love reading your reports when im on the lake!
  15. Im out of wilson. Last weekend was pretty good for me in close, 100 to 120 FOW. most marks were down 90 to 110 with some fish up as high as 50. Meat was the work horse for me, had a few shots on spoons.
  16. Salmon caught in Olcott just took the lead in the LOC.

  22. I was out of Wilson today and the wind changed around 1 oclock. It was super calm and flat then out of nowhere 2 to 4 footers. It was a rough ride back. It was weird how the wind went from South to North East in an instant.
  23. I bought some used ones off a buddy, dont know the brand but green/white and chartreuse worked the best Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Started in 400 FOW took a steelhead 70 down on a spoon. Ran back into 110 FOW and the meat rigs did all of the work. Picked up 4 more salmon lost 6. Expensive day for me as i lost a meat set up with a flasher and my net went overboard in the frenzy. Oh well back at it tomorrow. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Im in for a one day goby tournament. Everyone kicks in 5 bucks and heaviest bag wins LOL
