  1. The DEC people that checked my boat at the launch were looking for any weeds or plants that had stuck to my boat. It had to do with the new law that was enacted a few months ago. I agree with what skipper19 said, browns and lakers are eating gobies at a ridiculous rate. There is a reason my best spring brown lure is gold. As for the trash cans they have all been for unused bait fish in addition to invasive species. Are the gobies a problem? Yes. Ill be happy as long as those jumping asian carp dont get into the lake. http://www.dec.ny.gov/press/97442.html
  2. Ill give that a try, thanks. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I bought a couple meat rigs to try out and I was wondering if I should run them off dipsys, wire or downriggers? I should run them behind a spin doctor right? Thanks for the help
  4. That is one fat fish! Id guess more than 25 and less than 30. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Going in close will be awsome in late August. However I would refer to the reports and see in the salmon are moving in to the tributaries or not. If they are moving in then get in close with J-Plugs and Big Rapalas. If the salmon are not in the tribs yet the go out deep and run spoons and spin doctors. It all depends on the temperatures.
  6. Thanks ReelPower. ill shoot you a message tomorrow while im on the water and see whats going on. maybe together we can find the fish haha.
  7. Decided to stay in close today, started in 100 FOW and moved out to 200 only marked one bait ball. Went back to 100 and missed one hit on a lemon ice SD and fly, then caught a decent steelhead in 118 FOW down 95 on the rigger, used a blue dolphin SD and fly. I drove around and marked some big ones in 70 to 80 FOW, probably lakers with some browns mixed in, couldnt get them to cooperate. Still cant manage to get a king. Ill probably try again tomorrow.
  8. Ive been hitting steelhead in 100-125 feet of water down 75-95. Out in 230 - 300 FOW im hitting them from 50 to 90 down. The deeper water had been more productive. I fish out of Wilson.
  9. When I get fleas I put the tip of my rod like six inches under water and pull up hard, and repeat it will get most of the fleas off. Just watch out for a spoon flying at you when you get close!
  10. If we talked while i was going to my truck it was me haha, ill be out this week too if the lake cooperates. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Fished wilson today, lost all fish due to fleas. I must of had a pound stuck to my one line, they even stuck to my downrigger wire. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Started off in 150 FOW, Picked up two tiny kings at 239 and 287 FOW. Both were caught on a wire dipsy at a 3 setting with 250 feet of wire out. Lost a better fish on the 100 rigger in 210 FOW. The fishing is picking up compared to last weekend.
  14. Fished solo in the afternoon. Started in 75 FOW and worked out to 110. 75 to 90 was the best depth. Fish and bait all over the screen. Ended up with six lakers in two hours on spoons. Green Gator and Lemon Ice were hot today in magnum size.
  15. Fished Wilson Tuesday, marked fish in 70 to 100 fow and tons of bait, all my marks were high in the water column from 20 to 40 feet down. Sent from my LGLS740 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Launched solo at 330, got to 55 feet of water and pulled lakers to the boat non stop for 2 hours on the spoon regiment. Green Gator and Lemon Ice were hot. I got tired of pulling those 10 pound downrigger balls up so I tried jigging a white swim bait on a 5 ounce jig head and caught another few nice trout. It was challenging to get the hang of since they always hit of the drop but the same fish would hit 3 or 4 times. Probably totalled with around 20 fish, had a lot of doubles that I couldnt handle and my arms are killing me.
