Jumped out of Wilson today looking for browns in close since the lake flipped and there was a bunch of thunderstorms around. Only one fish today that came on a spin doctor and fly on a dipsy. Currents were nuts out there with over 2.5 mph difference from the surface to the ball. The one fish we caught is hanging on to second place for brown trout in the LOC. The ramp is open but I would recommend having a second guy. I had my buddy drive the boat out of the ramp while I parked the truck. It can just be difficult if the floating docks have boats at them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Shot out to 300 FOW in the morning. Hit 3 steelhead and 1 king. Kept trolling to 440 FOW before turning back to 350 FOW. Lost a bigger fish on the 70 foot rigger. Wire dipsy set at 240’ with a lemon ice spin Doctor and fly was the best set up of the day. Temp at 70 feet down was 45 degrees and best speed at the ball for me was 3.1 to 3.3. From talking to other people at the launch seems like 200 FOW was pretty good as well. Fleas were terrible!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I have found two flashers washed up on shore in the past few years. One had a complete meat rig and 50 feet of wire on it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Just a heads up that the park is actively checking that people payed to launch and writing tickets. Also the water is high enough to just come over the concrete at the launch. Boots are suggested but not necessary. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Part of the boom broke away in that wind storm. Not too much ice left on Erie anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Hey guys, With the pen rearing season approaching I just want to repost what I posted last year Just want to put it out there that I own a welding business and am also a pretty active fisherman on the lake. So I’m willing to fix any and all pens that need welding or replacement metal. I can be contacted on LOU or at 716-344-7446. Also I will donate travel time and go anywhere across the state, basically I’ll do the repairs for free. These pens insure the future of our fishery and I want to help in any way I can.

I have to agree with Bandrus1. I'm a hunter and fisherman. Posting photos of a pile of dead coyotes or rabbits is not going to get you any victories. Non Hunters see a picture of dead coyotes and associate them with pets. This bill will not pass but in the age of technology where anything and everything can be posted online we need to be careful. That being said please keep killing coyotes and catching all the salmon and brown trout you please.

I saw some over Seneca lake Tuesday. They were headed southeast, not sure on where they might have landed.

I also fish out of a 16 foot boat, the closest launch to me is Wilson, so I usually launch there. I also like Olcott and Fort Niagara. In the fall you might only need to be right off the pier heads to catch salmon depending on the time of day. I like to start in 20 or 30 feet of water in the morning and slide deeper as the sun comes up. I’ve had a lot of luck in fall out at 75 FOW fishing on the bottom. Just fish the marks on your fish finder and play with the lures until you find what works. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I’d just get some blacks releases, easy to use and haven’t failed me for 5 years now. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Head to art park or fort Niagara and you have a chance at some bass or walleye, they are still catching the occasional steelhead in the river too. Joseph Davis state park also has a fishing dock on the river that’s nice. I drift for bass in front of it in the spring. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I'm looking for some suggestions on what fish finder to buy in the next few days. I have a budget of $1000, maybe a little more. I have only used lowrance products in the past but I'd like to hear what other guys prefer. I mostly troll but do a few trips a year for bass, perch and walleye.

My first hole in 25 FOW was on fire. Hooked 10 landed 3, marked around 40 or so. Bite shut off for me around 1130. Clown jigging rap was the lure of the day. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
