    Totally agree with you guys - can't beat the tranquility of either of these two lakes. Been spending a lot of time on them the past few years in the yak. Doesn't matter if it's family time with the wife and daughters, fishing solo, or date night with the wife, it's all the same escape from real life for a few hours. Wife and I went on a couple of nighttime paddles on Canadice during the full moons last year, looking forward to doing it again.

    Launched the kayak from South end and pulled a Sutton West River and a Silverleaf clown along the east shore in anywhere from 5 to 35 FOW with the spoons out from 60 to 120 feet behind me. Went for a few miles, then crossed over to west shore for the return trip, and got a great view of an eagle watching me peddle past. Only picked up a smallmouth, being the first catch of the season, I snapped a quick pic then sent him on his way. Surface Temps were a consistent 48 / 49 degrees.     Grew up with a Brittany as a house pet - no hunting. He would chase a ball all day long, and point to any birds & critters in the yard as part of his natural instincts. One problem we had has that he suffered from low blood sugar and would suffer diabetics seizures if he played too much. We would be able to bring him out of the seizure with Kayro corn syrup rubbed on his inner cheeks. Not 100% certain, but I though I was told at one time that seizures like that are known issue for the Brittany breed.

    2 Daiwa Wilderness Trolling Rods Model: WLDR 862MR (8' 6", M, 2 pc.) **SOLD** 2 Daiwa Wilderness Trolling Rods Model: WLDR 802MR (8’, M, 2 pc.) **SOLD** All rods have very little use and have been stored inside. I originally bought them thinking that I would be setting up the boat for trolling. Instead, I ended up using the kayak for trolling, and these rods are too heavy for trolling from the yak. Also have 2 slightly used Daiwa G802MFS 8’ 2 Piece spinning rods – they were originally sold as a Daiwa D-Wave Saltwater Spinning Combos. These are a hand-me-down from a buddy’s failed attempt at pier fishing rigs. I’m keeping the reels, but letting the rods go. Asking $10 each rod plus shipping. If interested in face to face, I’m from Canandaigua and would be willing to meet up within reasonable driving distance. Would be interested to trade the trolling rods for comparable trolling / casting rods in L to M action. Can send pictures if interested.

    Took advantage of end of season sale a few weeks ago and picked up a new 2015 Hobie Outback SOT with the mirage pedal drive. Last 2 weekends were spent in shallow water getting used to the yak and figuring out exactly how I wanted it rigged. Thursday was my maiden fishing voyage on northern end of Hemlock lake. Ran into a problem with power to the fishfinder, so I was flying blind; but I couldn't pass up the awesome weather. Although I couldn't get an exact reading from my phone GPS, figured my speed was anywhere from 1.5 - 3 mph. Was pulling a smaller Pine Valley spoon on a diver about 25 ft deep and a floating rap about 120 ft behind me. Ended up with 3 small mouths off the spoon. Overall, a good experience, the mirage drive made a huge difference compared to traditional paddling. Can't wait to get more time in on this yak. Not giving up my sit-in yak, but can see where each one can be used for different situations. Did I mention the scenery was spectacular?     Still trying to get dialed in on rainbows from the kayak... Had a hook up Sunday morning and it almost immediately started jumping, so I was thinking I finally got dialed in. Turned out to be a smallie about the same size. Thinking of hitting Candice/Hemlock this evening with the wife and enjoy the (almost) full moon... no fishing just enjoying the moment.

    Alot of times I bottom bounce a cowbell / peanut rig a foot above a 1 lb weight and am able to keep my speed any where between 1 -2.5 mph on the fish finder GPS, so I'm thinking the big-tuff would be about the same resistance. I've actually been having pretty good luck with this sliding weight made by Anger Innovation, but it does get a bit awkward in the yak when I've got it setup with heavier weights when landing a fish. I'm basically looking for something lighter / smaller that will still get me deeper then 4 color depth with about the same amount of line out. I just picked up a 1 oz Off Shore Tackle tadpole weight, and was going to try it out this weekend.
