  1. Ox tail usually works too, 345' behind the boat
  2. Good luck!!!
  3. This is how I got rid of the rattling... Two small pieces of fuel line.
  4. Got mine at SAIL
  5. Any of you have any experience with them?
  6. 5/8 wavelength antenna will do just fine. You do not need eight feet long one to make contact. 3 footer will work without a doubt, as long as there is lign of sight. Btw you don't have to be in the water to test your radio. Make sure your antenna is grounded. You want the boat and water to be used as a plane.
  7. Pics!!!!!!
  8. Steering works! like a charm, the only downside to my setup is rattling:) will have to figure something out to remedy that. Also the 6HP single cylinder motor i got(NEW - trolled with it first time) , is a pain in the butt. Starts and works fine etc... but it is noisy and vibrates. Trolling with my 2stroke 50hp Mercury was much more pleasurable.
  9. Went out of Lakefront, went waay past Port Credit at 50fow. Than went to 130s to my fishing spot between PC and Marie Curtis Park. Then trolled all the way to Lakefront, went to the barge at PC and back to Lakefront. Did not get a single bite, tried spoons, atomiks, stick baits.... not a thing. Fished from 9am till 2pm. Fished depths from 10-90. Got a sunburn on the other hand:) and got to test out my new steering linkage for my kicker.
  10. A little hard to diagnose it withoutt seeing the settings. Did you ever see fish with it? If the transducer is ticking and its marking the bottom I would say it works. I would reset the unit to factory settings and go from there. There is a bunch of videos here on how to set them up etc....can't remember where now, maybe somebody can pitch in.
  11. Seriously? Why nobody is selling these flashers? I talked to him few days ago, he Is Australian.
  12. Something i came upon while browsing the net..... they have some interesting stuff for trolling... http://trollingcenter.se/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_27 trollingcenter.se is the main page's adress.
  13. 20$ later, solid aluminum rod 3/8", 2 pins.... Thanks guys!!!!!!
  14. Mercurys web site has a prop selector that will tell you right size and pitch for your motor. Its there bc I was looking at a prop for my 08 merc 50
  15. Need your opinion on something.. My Crestliner is only 17 ft long. I would like to run dipseys, both of my downriggers are pointed to the sides at the rear of the boat. Where are the dipsy rods usually mounted? I see people with rocket launchers that are used for that purpose. i Dont really have room to put another set of rod holders anywhere. So this idea came to mind. The radar arch, it is adjustable, it folds(has hinges). The only downside to it, it is stainless steel, instead of aluminum. I was thinking of putting something like that on my boat for more rods, and also for some lights. What are your opinions/suggestions? Here are the pics of the actual item:
  16. Lund SSS, i think i see some simillarities This might be much easier than i thought
  17. Lund sss, brilliant!!! Never would have thought of putting this on the inside of the boat! Much easier to attatch to the motors. My bows to you guys for posting pictures and for great ideas! Thanks
  18. 1ft detail + structure scan for trolling? For 300$? I think I will stick ti my Elite 5.
  19. Lund SSS, would you post a picture of your setup? Willy-C, nice! and simple! i was thinking about fabbing something of my own before, but did not want to loose any warranty on my brand new kicker. One question for you, would you be able to take a closeup picture of how it attatches to your kicker, and to the main? I'm assuming you are using bolts to have it attatched to the main?
  20. just found their website, and it shows everything. http://www.marinetechproducts.com/pages/EZSteerHome/
  21. Lakefront park by Cawthra and Lakeshore has docks in. We went out today for few hours and got skunked. The weather sucked, even though the weather channel called for 15 degrees i could see my breath very clearly while on the water. We fished for a while at 30-50ft. Later went out to 130ft to my favourite spot and the weather turned. Waves were around 5-6ft and it was no more fun. We slowly creeped back towards Lakefront. We dropped the lures back down to 20ft and nothing. Went in after 20 mins because my guests were wet and cold In other words, if your boat has no canopy/windshield nor is enclosed, its way to cold. Mine doesn't. I'll wait till it gets to 20s. At least got rid of my cabin fever K.
  22. Drove by PC today, docks are in the same state as they were in the picture above. On the other hand, Lakefront park by Cawthra and Lakeshore has docks in. We went out today for few hours and got skunked. The weather sucked, even though the weather channel called for 15 degrees i could see my breath very clearly while on the water.
  23. Bringing the old topic back...... Went out today for a while. waves were somewhat 4-5 feet, it was not a pleasant ride for my guests..... Anyway.... before the weather turned it was somewhat ok, but still a little bumpy. I tried to do what someone here suggested keep my 6HP High Thrust kicker straight and steer with the main that was in the water. That did not work so well, as soon as i put the main in N, the boat would turn no matter how hard i turn the wheel. So i guess i need an easy steer bracket.... My question is, when i get the bracket and lets say im coming out of water on the boat ramp i usually lift my main up. I also leave it up for the trips, it has this 3/4" pin that i push in and then lower it so all the weight of the main motor is not sitting on the hydraulics. How will that work with an easy steer??? does it have like a quick disconnect thing??
