SALE PENDING Selling my 269 legacy. It is a 1991 that was purchased new in 2005 by my brother and I took over the boat 2 years ago. I am looking to simply downsize. Right now I fish 95% of my trips with my son and dont see that changing anytime soon, and 27 foot flybridge is a bit much! It will come with 2 fishfinders, fishhawk, 3 scotty electric downriggers, autopilot, pretty much everything except the rods and lures. The rods are in the pics just to show room and storage. The engine is a 350 merc and apologies, I will add some pictures next weekend. The boat overall is in great shape, the engine needs a new alternator and like most 25 year old penn yans probably need some other work done in the bilge area, but I am looking to get $7000 and willing to take offers. With a little bit of work you will have an awesome fishing machine. Sale PENDING

fishing Sodus Point tomorrow any updated info?

I took my kids out today from 1:30 until 4. Started in 40 fow...10 feet down it was 48 degrees. Decided to set lines and look for browns. Set lines right there...20 minutes in the 200 copper takes off...fish juming 3 to 4 feet out of the water 3 times...then off. Tried that 40 feet for another 45 minutes or so without a hit...moved in to 20 fow and had 3 browns in about 45 minutes before my daughters friend wasnt feeling great. Pulled lines and called it a good day. Side note...I was reading the temp conversation and my quick 2 cents...when the lake flips this much...good luck! I dont think i ever found a magic pill for a week of east winds and the lake flipping. I know people say kings are shallow, some say deep, some claim they scatter...who knows. I dont fish temp either for kings, but with the flip we just had, i think luck is what i hope for... or go for browns! Sent from my SM-N920P using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
What a great event! I was planning to fish solo with the vet. I was pretty happy that the lake flattened out friday evening. Slept on the boat and around 1 am was woken up by some pretty heavy winds...sigh...knew it would be a looong day going solo. Jason and Chad were waiting because some of the vets didnt show. I offered my boat and told them i could use the help. They jumped abroad and off we went. We ended up going 8 for 11. Mix of small, medium and large kings...even a steelie thrown in. Early bite was 150 to 170 fow...90 rigger, 80 rigger, sliders and 225 dipsy on 3 setting took fish. Fishing was hot until 930 or so...then slowed. Thanks again to Nick and the Arneys crew for putting on a great event. Great looking fish all over at the weigh in. We had good numbers, missed some of the size..but the Vets arms were tired...so i was happy. Sent from my SM-N920P using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The only thing i noticed was that 4 hits came 730 to 9...then we blanked until browns. I did the same Wednesday...hits until 9...then lost em. Tried deep to bottom wednesday staying inside 150 with nothing...saturday tried moving out to 220 and running deeper...and nothing but a skip. I had a pick from 400 copper, 270 to 300 dipsies on 1 setting, and 100, 110 and 120 riggers. Nothing of a pattern...wish i could say i had a hot setup. All but 1 hit was inside 130 fow and the was the skip down 120 over 200 on a flasher. The browns were in 110 that we hit. -

Well...decided to fish east off the bluffs. I figured since yesterday everyone went west for the pro am...i could go east and get out of the way and try to out a few fish in the box. Is there a reason EVERYONE fished east today?? Holy cow a lot of boats. Anyway...we started dropped lines at 7:15 in 110 fow. Managed 2 small kings a skip, dropped 3 others...nothing major...then tried browns and got 1 for 2 in the last 45 minutes. Pulled lines around 12:30. I am real curious to see if i missed the bite or something. There seemed to be a lot of boats, figured there should be a reason...but i didnt have the luck. During that time...just check the forecast a day or 2 out. Really...if the temperature doesn't drop a bunch, there is probably no front and the waves wont be too bad. Looking at it now is pretty much useless. As for the waves, yes...they can be just like Lake Erie. They cak build fast, but if you are prepared and checl the weather, you should be safe. Lines down at 6...started in 80 looking to work browns. Got to 100 and picked up 2 kings...8 and 10 pounds...lost another by 730. Nothing from then until 9...so we worked out to 200 and back in...nothing. ended up trying again around 110...got another salmon and nice atlantic...lost a few other shots and called it a day around noon. Got out late...took my son, nephew and dad out. Plan was to go real deep...500+. Waves were a bit much for the kids so just decided to ride them in...400 fow to 200 fow...not a frigging thing from 9:30 to 11:30. Got inside 200, picked up a nice steelie and lost another release. Saw a few arcs coming up to my lines from the bottom...decided to put a few flashers down deep. 1 minute after I sent one down to 160 it popped. Thought it was a small laker at first...didnt do much...then all the sudden...zoom! Ended up boating a 26 pound king. Dropped it down again and we got three more shots missed within an hour before we had to pull lines and head to family at 1. Sent from my SM-N920P using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I am not sure what you run...i run Okuma dipsie rods. They work awesome. I never fished lake erie...but i can say on Lake Ontario i change speed often until i find one that works. I uave run 2.0 in the morning and 3.1 in the afternoon and vice versa. Best advice i can give...keep working the back of the boat. Dont go crazy and change eveything every 5 minutes...but dont go 5 hours and not change anything. Get some typical go to lures...UV stingers...greens/blues...flasher fly combos...read reports on here...work the water and you will find some success. Another thing to keep in mind, most people post on here when they catch fish. I try to post all my trips...good and bad. I know Nick(out of sodus as well) does the same. Dont get discouraged if you read great reports on here and you dont do as well. Just enjoy the battle. There is nothing like fighting a king. Typically in the 40 to 80 range you can find steelhead and often the smaller kings. If thats what you have...run spoons off leadcore, get the dipsies and riggers deeper...and you can find fish. It takes some patience, but just do your best to get a good spread of depth. With 6 rods, you can cover 50 to 120 pretty easy with dipsies and cheaters. Typically in late July and early August, my favorite fishing is really deep out of Sodus. I find 500 to 700 fow and fish 80 to 130 down. I run sliders and some higher stuff and get a good mixed bag of steelhead, small kings and even a few majors. Can make for a really fun day. This was a typical day...about 3 or 4 hours of fishing out deep taking the kids. Again...all of this is assumptions from the past. Can change, but a good starting point. There are a few captains out of the Oak that share on here. Crazy Yankee is great and posts on here often...and there is another guy who does a quick video often giving updates, forgot his name, but good info. I believe they have a webpage for fisherman and thats where you can find it. Sent from my SM-N920P using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

What gear do you have? Riggers...copper...dipsy rods? Im not an Oak expert, but i know they have great lake trout fishing all spring and summer. I fish Sodus, and to be honest, Kings can be anywhere from 80 to 700 fow. Usually if the weather is stable and the lake is seat up kings are from 150 to 300, 80 to 130 down. Keep in mind...this is VERY general...but a decent start. Check the site here for reports. Lake trout can usually be found anywhere on the lake with a sandy bottom, bounce your downrigger balls anywhere from 120 to 170 with cowbells behind them. Good luck! Just to clarify, your money in my opinion, is spent better on learning about fishing, not on just temperature. Look for Pecci's salmon school. Great way to learn about the fishing if you are new. Im sure there are others, but look into that. You will catch more fish than just getting a fishhawk. Sent from my SM-N920P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
