I do f dock. Come visit. 26ft walk around dual 115 4 stroke mercurys. We got six yesterday wieghed one 8.5. Got 4 today two over eight lbs. No fish under 5.5 lbs all weekend. yesterday caught fish on short cores. Today three fish came off the bottom. Small dw spoons watermellon. My buddy docked next to me wieghed in two over nine yesterday. Lakers were there. Slower then we would like but we grinded it out. Leader down (light) and troll slow.

We will be out of Dunkirk all week. Fishing has been good out that way. There is only a handful of boats that I have been seeing. I believe the fishing is going to be good this weekend. Weather is promising.

I also use them with no tubing on braid with no issues. I was having problems with them sliding down with the surgical tubing.

Yep same hear west of Dunkirk. We been getting them during the day also. 6 Thursday during the day and then did good again Friday. Top twenty five feet stick baits with three color and deep diving husky jerks. Lots of Bait up high, but Sunday the previous days north wind made things tough water temp was 44 on top. Friday was mid 50's surface temp.

Me and my five year old son went out caught a few perch out front and then trolled west in 30 ft of water and got rewarded with some big lakers and a steelhead. The lakers are stacked up in close from the harbor west to the point. Seems 30 to 40 ft was best, watermellon SS spoons off riggers just off the bottom. Steelhead came up high. Word is the bass fisherman have been getting lakers jigging off van Buren.

I have used a lot of different release on my dads and grandfathers boats over the past years. I then bought a boat with riggers that had blacks on them and they are awesome.

We got the steelhead on rapalas blue and silver jointed f9, same with browns. Got a few off riggers 5ft down 100 back. Today was completely different surface temp west of point was 57 to 60 degrees. We caught lots and lots of bass big ones. We also caught a laker in 20ft of water right of the point. It was roughly 10lbs. We got a sheepshead that was one of the biggest we have caught pushing 9lbs. Would have stayed later but weather moved in real fast about 8pm.

Only us and a few southerners fishing for bass.

Third time out fishing out of dunkirk today water temp is 54. No walleyes during the day but off vanburen in 15 to 20 ft caught some nice steel head and browns. Week ago today boated three steel head and lost 4 or 5 with a walleye dropped by the net. Fish are coming off rapalas on church boards. In the afternoons bottom is packed with fish and I imagine if they were bass we would be catching them. Just started will post again tommorrow on today's results.

We fish out of Chadwick bay don't be afraid to troll in the top 20 feet of water especially late spring early summer. Jets and Short cores off the boards with both sticks and harnesses. The fishing was good to the east this year, but setting up on the stretch of water with all that structure to the west is never a bad idea. 1.8 mph is a pretty consistent speed for us. The one thing I have learned is run the leaders behind the jets and dipsey as far back as you can handle. Late in the tear riggers took a lot of fish for us especially fluttering a spoon off the rigger. Completely agree with Times Two on spoon selection. DW SS (watermellon copper).

I love a good argument. I like catching all sorts of different species but when you really evaluate the situation the vast majority of people come to Lake Ontario to catch Kings. They are and will always be the main attraction. A group of 5 to 15 of family members and friends have been coming up to Olcott/Wilson area since the early 80's several times a year and although we catch and target all species the Kings are what keep us coming. There is a reason that Dunkirk Harbor is not full until early June and that's because a handful of those charters are trying to make some money chasing kings. If they wanted to catch a Lake Trout, Lake Erie is packed full of them along with browns and steelhead. As far as LOC tournament I see both sides and both arguments are valid. On the other hand if the King fishing dissipates we would stop coming or come less anyways.

Stick baits of the boards did well blue and silver was hot. We caught seven of the browns off little dipsey's no ring on three 20 ft back with a 10 ft leader. It was cool watching a good brown smash the spoon behind the dipsey if the water was on the clear side u could see the dipsey while trolling. 6 to 10 ft of water was the best.

Just bought a new for me boat. It has dual 115 hp mercury four strokes. The boat is a fiberglass 255 seaboss walk around. Will be trolling with one motor. Walleye fish majority of the year our of dunkirk need to be at 1.8 mph going with the waves in 3 to 4s. Thinking(2) 22 or 28 inch amish outfitter bags. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I love my diawa sealine 27lc for walleye with braid on blue diamond rods. I have a set of 47h diawa with 30lb big game that I put on the rods when I go to ontario for the riggers. For leadcore I purchased 2 okuma convector 45lc that I have rigged up with a full core and 30lb fireline backing they work great on both lakes just add a snap wieght for depth.

I fish both Walleye on Erie and Salmon on Ontario. I am an strong believer in leadcore and have switched over to using short cores instead of jet divers off the big boards mainly 3 and 5 color. Early season I run shallow running stick baits with small split shots a few feet above the lure with braid an flouro leader. When the walleye move out deeper we have traditionally run 10 jets with stick baits. My question is why wouldn't running a stick bait with a 1 oz or 1/2 oz wieght to get it in the 10 to 12 ft range work as effectively as running a ten jet or rigging up 1 to 2 color segments. I would love to have segmented cores of 2,3,4,5 but its just ends up being so many reels and the high cores are ussually only productive for a short time.

What size are the blue diamonds and what shape are they in.

We have been out of the Catt with only a few others and got a bunch Thursday 50 ft a little Ne of creek. Ice is not rough at all.

We run two 10 color all year long for walleyes on erie and for steel head and kings on ontario depending on conditions. I started lead core fishing with one ten color. The next year after a few tangles I had a three and five and then bought another ten in the spring.

Rod and reel we use okuma convectors 45 with any regular 7.5 to 8.5 ft down rigger medium action rod.
