  1. If you are planning on casting size 14 and 18 rapalas for big walleye id go medium power. If you are casting smaller sticks then medium lite. Lighter reels balance better on lighter power, shorter rods and conversely larger heavier reels balance better on heavier longer rods. Just depends on what size lure you are throwing. 8. I got out with my neighbor at the campground, wayne, and captain eyes (brent) this morning to try and get my summer trolling pattern going. We had 4 of our 9 rods in and my outside board rod fires. Brent jumps on it, I clear the line we are letting out and after a good fight we have a nice 25" eye. We get lines out and probe rigger fires. Nice 22" eye on 1 of miss em's (jeff) spoons. Picked up a brown and missed 1 other eye. Ill be dialed in better tomorrow. Fish came 15-20 down over 60 fow. Pics shortly! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Well luke got another half dozen crappie off the dock last weekend. We tried fatheads this week and they worked better than worms. had to weed thru alot of throwbacks tho. Still havent tried any artificials, and didnt work to hard at it, but fun nonetheless.
  10. I like the shimano stradics paired with a 7ft fast action medium power im8 graphite rod. I have many different rods and reels and these are the boat favorites. I use 15-20 lb braid and seaguar blue label flouro leader. Flouro mainline works, but if you cant cast it unless you use light line (4-6). Sensitivity is the key and braid shines for that. Also flouro sinks and that isnt desirable once the weeds come up. Limp line also helps when you pause on the retrieve. Any line that coils up with slack is going to be harder to feel light hits on the pause.
  11. Nice fish Chris! I hope to get em trolling soon! The night bite is great, but its killing me! Lol. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Brent, Pm sent Thanks guys! Im gonna fish 1 last night during the lighting of the lake fireworks...i might as well anchor where i can get walleye AND watch fireworks! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. We had another good weekend casting sticks for eyes, catching fish everynight. I got a summer cold so i struggled to even fish last night, but im glad I did! I hooked what i thought was a tiger, because of the amount of line it took and because it did a half circle of the boat on its first run. I fought the fish close enough to the boat to see an eye in my red light before the fish made a second run and went a quarter circle around the boat. Best fight of the year for me and great top water hit! Fish was 27 inches and just over 8lbs. Had all the guys from hunting camp over the weekend and everybody got at least 1 eye everynight. The flatter calm nights produced awesome large and smallmouth action with a few nice eyes. The windy night, last night, it was almost all walleye action. Bait is still on shore everynight, but ill be trolling this week and weekend trying to get my summer program going. Spring bite was just unreal this year with no skunks in our last 21 nights out, but its time to sleep and rest...ie troll! Here is couple good solid fish... 15. The boaters dont really effect walleye fishing...im off the water in the morn before they get going, and when i go back out in the afternoon and evening they are gone...but oneida is easier fishing for sure! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. It isnt luck...just takes lotsa fishing to pattern them. Finger lakes walleye fishing tends to be a locals bite because it takes some time to learn to target them consistently. It isnt like they are easy for anyone! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Your welcome Connor...no tiger action last night...3 walleye and the biggest run of huge bass ive ever seen! We caught 10 over 20 inches and 1 about 22. Unless of course we were catching the same fish over it was epic. My buddies from my hunting camp loved it! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. You have to find open areas....and yeah its a lot of work running lines non stop for hours. No different than the night bite after the weeds come up. You have to scout out potential spots in the day so you can find areas with less weeds. I never said it was easy Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Youll see my deck from the launch...you'll know it when you see it...when do you get here? Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Was out with 315angler last night and got nice tiger on blue prism bomber. Fish hit top water on the pause in about 10 fow over the inside edge of a weedline. Picked up 3 eyes n lotsa bass. Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
