Just my 2 cents, but I also think everybody should pay first. I think its important to get guys together so people can meet. People who are just getting started can really learn a lot this way. Ive only trout trolled a half dozen times and focus on walleye, but due to the interest in the walleye lou-all (weve had a full field for months) ill pull my pontoon and make the drive as long as the weather is good. Can we get more details? The date is pretty close and some of us have never fished an event like this. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Wind drove me off last night with just 1 4.5 pounder casting. Im so tired from night fishing...its awesome fishing but im ready to troll. We trolled for an hour or so last evening with another couple and managed a decent smb that gave a good show. The sunset and view was our main objective and it was gorgeous. During the alewife spawn daytime walleye trolling is nearly impossible...we hit 1 early last night casting, and there was definitely alot of fish working, but the wind was more than my trolling motor could handle and i headed in before midnite. I would have casted from shore, but i had 10 yds of concrete to pour this morning. Im beat its nap time! Chris, It was nice meeting you, and you are welcome anytime! The alewife action is unreal all night and until the spawn is over it will be a tough bite during daylight. Ive seen/heard lots of tigers working each night. Rougarou deep divers should be adequate without clips most of the time. If you wanna go deeper a 1oz clip weight will gain you roughly 30 percent placed 20 feet in front on the deep diver. Stop n see me anytime and ill show you some dive curves etc. Thanks old man! We are quite pleased with our place! Anyone wanting to try the night casting better hurry...it wont last long! As soon as the thermoclime sets up the walleye fishing gets very consistent for trolling...right now THE WAY to target eyes is at night casting, or trolling very slow very tight to shore at night. This doesn't mean that trolling in daylight cant work, but consistent positive results arent possible for me. The walleye feed so hard all night that they are in a food coma all day! Ill post some pics of the fat content on these fish...its unreal this year. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I went out last night for 4 hrs with my friend gene and his wife staci. We did nothing but drop n miss fish. We ended up with only 3 eyes. They enjoyed the nice night and the fat fillets! Its really difficult to teach people how its done in 1 trip, and difficult to figure out what to do differently when im not fishing up front. Ill do better.... What works for you depends on what depth the water is...we were working depths to 15 feet of water...last week i caught several in 6 inches of water on floaters. Ive been starting at 11 or 12...but i dont wanna wait and i like it best after everyone else quits. Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Went out last night with my buddy scotty and we had non stop action. Started casting just before midnite and ended up landing a dozen eyes in less than 5 hrs. Our best 6 weighed 32 lbs with 3 just over 6. Alewive action was crazy, but most fish would only hit on the pause on suspending baits. I also jigged 2 fish and our longest on 5" gulp on a 1/2 swimbait jig. Hits were light except the jigs which they crushed. Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Way to go! Try purpledesant in rapala or purple white belly from reef runner...both are hot trolling colors for me right now...just bought another 12. Have you tried casting or trolling at night? Im hoping to rebuild my carb so my boat will idle again....been tough to troll! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The walleyes should be working alewives on a nightly basis, but you need to try later at night. Pick your favorite floater in blue prism, and a hj14 in blue/orange or black/silver and work both lures tight to shore from 12am to 4am with an electric trolling motor covering water. Its very easy with 2 guys...one pounds the shore with the floater...the other casts straight in front with a suspender or a shad rap...they have a new blue/glass color. Fish should come 2-3 to a spot when you find them. Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

We finished the weekend with 11 eyes from 20-27 inches. 6 were trolled in the am, and 5 were caught casting from midnight to 4am. The eyes are feeding, but not much of a pattern making consistant trolling impossible. You have to figure em out everyday...one day they are shallow the next they are deep.
