  1. Scusset beach is at the east end of the cape cod canal, and the canal is a premier shore fishing striper destination...better than the outer cape now! The canal has a paved, lit 7 mile bike path that lines each shore. The best way to fish it is from a bike rigged with a basket and rod holders. Very cheap easy thing...I have 4 of em. You ride the canal in waders like a kid...I fish the may/june migration, but the locals love july when its not a zoo! I wont lie to you and tell you its easy, but its the most rewarding fishing I have ever done. Check out canal striper blitz on you tube. Ive been there for these and the top water blitzes are AWESOME. The charter captain you want to go out with is Captain Jason Colby he is a fish catching machine, little sister charters. Here is a pic of the Ditch! Pm me...too much info type here. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Chad thats a pig! You said you caught a nice one...thats quite a girth. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. We had a tough time out there today with the wind and crazy water temps . We abandoned our trolling program and went in shallow warm water (8-10) and Scotty caught 3 tigers in the last hour casting a pink hj14. Matt n I got zippo aside from bass and walleye I lost. Scotty finished 3rd with 1 31"...the other 2 were 29+ but not 30. Had a great time meeting the muskie inc guys and look forward to their return. 4. Its not just extra thrust on the 80 its the extra battery life and if the wind blows at all you will wish you spent the extra....I kick myself for not getting the 101... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. The shore brown bite was good this winter/spring for sure!
  6. I grew up eating frogs from our ponds...pellet gun/22 at night was the ticket. Guess I better take a different approach next time I want frog legs. Thanks for the info hermit.
  7. Who's ready? This beautiful weather has me ready to go to the lake right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Way to go Kevin! We are getting hammer handles in our local rivers here...heading back up to the lake this afternoon...hopefully things will pick up starting tonight!! What was your water temp? We were low 40's last weekend, but should be over 50 this afternoon.
  9. Go 24v if you can...and the longer shaft.
  10. I customized the bimini frame I had then ordered to fit. I designed the fishing area FIRST then put the bimini in the space thats left. You can always move to stand in the shade, but the fishing space is more critical...imo.
  11. I have been using my 80lb thrust terrova while running my 4 stroke together for three tears and love it. The terrova will push my pontoon 3mph, but it trolls and tracks best using both motors together and battery life is less of an issue. Speed adjustments are very easy. I usually run the 4 stroke at an idle and set the speed with the terrova.
  12. Way to go Les! I tried Monday night and absolutely nothing working....wont be long now and there will be fish crashing the shore every night.
  13. Water temps finally went up a few degrees....47 today. Ponds on each end of the lake are 54-56. We will be over 50 in the main lake by saturday, and hopefully we will get some better fishing. Didnt see any action this morning or last night.
  14. Id like to mount a gopro on my rocket launcher for trolling...old man, i hope you get some footage this weekend! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. 47 is the best i could find, other than shallow water, this morning on otisco. By the weekend we should start getting into em! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  18. Im gonna join the fun...Tracy and I are all settled in here in our rv, so I wont miss it like last year! Should be a great time, and looking forward to meeting everyone. 21. Thats warmer than i expected...is that over deep water? Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Creek mouths gotta have fish after dark temps are just too cold in the main lake for enough activity to make good fishing...imo Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I didnt make it out last night due to several bands of weather. This morning wasnt much better...very windy! We ended 0 for 1 this morn. The lake is frigid to say the least...44-46 in the main lake. Barely marked any fish or bait on the west side, and the few marks we had were isolated on the points. We couldnt handle fishing anywhere except the west side due to wind. Im gonna troll the pond this afternoon and try the warmer water...its 53! Nobody has caught anything noteworthy (not bass) yet. On a positive note the new setup is AWESOME...on a negative note I have a rigger with a cracked/broken "pulley/wheel" Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I dont know if coming out of the closet when it comes to walleyes will ever happen, but in warm water i dont go below 3....ever! Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Got any data for 3.0 mph? Ill definitely give the copper a try if there is dive data for faster speeds. I could put my x4d probe on and make my own chart, but thats a lot to do just to try out copper. Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
