I am looking into the dt 10 units myself, but havent been able to get any info from anyone that uses them. For my application i am most interested in the cycling/jigging function. Does anyone use this function? I run diving sticks off my cannons and it seems the jigging of the ball will accelerate the bait on the up stroke and pause the bait on the down stroke. This type of action is what im looking for to trigger tiger muskies and walleye. I do this with boat speed now, but its only possible when im not busy running lines etc. Ive had great success with this using my terrova but seems like jigging would be easier. I also wondered what you guys like the most about the digi-trolls? How easy are they to run off my humminbird? Ive researched the features, but cant find anyone talking about them which makes me wonder if they are worth it. Id like to go from 2 riggers to 3-4 dt10s, and have 8.5 foot beam on my pontoon can I fish 4 or is 3 the number? Does anyone use the cannon probe with their humminbird? justin

Ill be here for a month as its a complete remodel, but cant get 500 feet from a house. Ive shot prob 15 deer over the years from houses ive built or worked on. New construction houses are awesome deerstand/blinds! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I was on a roof today installing a new chimney in a suburban area, and I saw a nice 100 - 120 inch buck chasing a doe in the woods behind the house. She was exhausted, tongue hanging and he was really running her all thru the neighborhood. If it was raining i coulda got some good footage, but my phone wasnt on me. Cant wait to get in my stand tomorrow! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have the pro edition with plastic coated pages and its my most important tool. Apps are great until your phone dies or breaks or its pouring out etc...i like the book, but ill have both next year. I found it on ebay, it was more than $99! Wouldnt sell it for 200 though! I only really use 20 pages probably and have those 20 memorized, but wouldnt wanna fish without it. Rapala actually doesnt have exact data anywhere, but their website says to consult PTD! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I would look at the precision trolling app...i use mark's latest book, and im happy with it though as pap said its pricey. If you have the time, ambition, and money the learning is rewarding. If you dont have the time a charter would shorten the learning curve a lot. There are plenty of charter guys out there...find one in the area you plan to fish that understands your goals and you'll save yourself money in the long run. Seems like in 2 trips you would know exactly what gear to get and exactly how to use it to target eyes effectively. The fish will move, but the techniques you would learn will give you the confidence to find them. Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Exact depth control is THE KEY on suspended fish...the more neutral or negative the walleyes are the less they will move to feed. If you happen to catch it right you can get them to come up a bit further if they are aggressive, but more often than not you probably have to get close. This is a dive curve... Boards are a must imo...i prefer big boards if im running many lines but both work very well. I run deep diving rapalas and reef runners off boards more than harnesses, but both are equally effective in good hands. Ditto on the clip weights...and crankbaits work fine on riggers too. Precision depth control is the key for suspended eyes, doesnt matter how you choose to get down there as long as you can get the depth right. Dive curves are important. Chas is right about the PSE draw cycle...its not easy, but getting better. I shot a 90 pound hoyt when i started over 20 years ago, then an 80 pound hoyt so the draw isnt an issue for me personally, but i definitely LOVE all 3 dream seasons we have and the DNA is unreal fast, light and amazingly smooth to shoot other than the draw. I just got the 2014 pse catalog tonight and they have 3 pro line models that are at least 31.5. The Source, The Freak, and The Drive LT. My evo drove the rage extreme thru a doe tonight...she didnt go 50 yards and watched her go down...love my pse! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Tim, They are the focus group for sure as they definitely arent going to keep the fish. I talk to the directors of those tournaments every morning all summer as im headung out while they are setting up, and Ill mention it this summer. My son is joining 2 of those clubs and knows the importance of safe handling. It will take time, but we will make a difference. I still havent heard from NMA. justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I wish we were able to "steer" people towards catch and release of the tiger muskies with the signage, but at least on state lands the signage may only include the legal size limit and safe release techniques to educate anglers. The sign must remain neutral on the catch and release issue as its up to the angler to decide whether to kill or release. On private property it can be biased towards catch and release however it is not my intention to push my beliefs only to educate those interested in catch and release. Anyone with a current license has the right to keep legal fish caught legally. Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Question on reels folks
justtracytrolling replied to brent fingar's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I fish for stripers in the cape cod canal and in those extreme conditions most guys ive talked to seem to agree on shimano if you are willing to spend the money. Big baits and muskies will certainly test your equipment, and rugged beats lightweight in my book. Ive been drooling over the new Shimano Tranx for both tigers and stripers. Trolling speeds that work for you with what lure was best

Im always a skeptic, but techniques shared by guys that fish as much as Captain Larry, or anybody that puts fish in the boat on an EVERYDAY basis year in and year out should be valued by everyone as it takes a great deal of effort to develop them on your own. The sharing of info helps us all...thanks to all that contribute regularly, especially Captain Larry, and Sk8man who have been sharing for years. If i run 6 rods its 2 on each side 2 on riggers 9 rods i run 3 each side 2 riggers and 1 leadcore down the chute 12 rods i run 4 each side 3 on riggers with a stacker and a chute rod...i have to be real bored and have ambitious guests to even think about 12 9 is a great number and very manageable, as long as there's little or no weeds Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
