Gator, I decided to just post them...the broken horn buck is tracy's first, the little 9 is my bow buck, the other 2 9's are shotgun and rifle, the bowl of antlers is all smaller bucks from before we practiced management, the 3 sets in the wall are my sons....the turkey pieces are collectibles from the NWTF given to me for winning two predator hunts they sponsored. Cant wait till we have the fish! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Gator, Ill pm you the pics of the deer and antlers, but the fish I are all from the last 12 monthes and I waited to get any started till recently as I wanted to make sure I picked the right fish. I used jeff balmer for my deer, but last year we took Tracy's first buck to a buddy that just got started. His name is jeff adams and he is a great guy and half the money of balmer. The last one I took to balmers came out fantastic as always, but he is the type to say , "well I wouldn't of shot that one" This rubbed me wrong and the deer was very special do to the nature of the kill not its size. The buck was chasing a doe and I did a spot and stalk, as I approached he actually started breeding her making the last crawl possible. My buddy and his young son were there and watched the whole thing. The whole family was with me for the recovery which added to the experience. The whole day was so special, the deer was my biggest archery kill, 9 point, that I knew I had to preserve the memory. To hear a taxidermist tell me what was a trophy totally pushed me to find a new taxidermist. After all how often does somebody spot n stalk a nice buck with a bow let alone shooting the buck right off the does back with your best friend and young boy watching. It was surreal and therefore a real TROPHY. If I paid 5k and got a guide, had him do all the work, shot a bigger buck from a stand he hung, on his lease in Illinois or wherevever would that make a better trophy? I say NO! justin

Im coming up tonight bout 4am and gonna fish till afternoon...couple hours of walleye and then bass with cody. im gonna troll as it gets light and Ill find out if they just aren't coming in close. My upflush pump for my basement went last night so I have a rather unpleasant task ahead of me today....should be even worse than the river lol! The tank is full obviously and the pump has to real pleasant after 20 years... I better get started...vicks is the key for this job. justin

Tracy has lived and worked along the river for over 20 years and seen and smelled to much too change her mind. Our sewage treatment plant has been damaged numerous times in floods and during these floods the river is full of raw sewage, and I personally have called sewage in to the DEC many times when fishing goudy which is below the plant. 2 years ago it was so bad that eventually the dec said to me after a dozen call the the plant was running on a special allowance and they were doing their best and they couldn't do anything. Fish swimming in sewage yummy! As a contractor I have been in many flood houses and if you cut yourself anywhere its infected...the bacteria in a flood is unreal...I had 2 employees hospitalized from it...doesn't matter what any expert says she will not eat those fish. justin

There is also a launch at the campground that has better parking and its a bit safer as its not on top of the road, but Ive used both. I keep my boat at the campground on a slip as I stay on the weekend all summer. Im not sure how late either is open.. justin

Tim, I thought everybody trolled 3-4 mph for eyes! You mean im doing it wrong! Maybe I should leave the boat in and learn the proper way. LOL And didn't you learn something about needing rod holders if you are trolling too fast. Pap, You better leave the ladders to us professionals...though I cant wait to get outta the business so I have time to fish seriously! LOL Dave, I'm sorry for your loss. You are right about the unexpected...but without it we'd never catch the big ones. Les, If I have to have a trolling fix you'll be my first call. Id like to catch one of those bows you have trained to bite. justin

62 last night....figured it would've dropped....Im fishing hard Monday then pulling the boat...gotta start the rebuild...and im shifting to hunting...full moon is coming and its time for me to relax in a tree....spend most of my time at camp from then on...Ill still come up to fish with tim a time or two probably. My theory is that if its bright and dead flat the eyes that Im hunting will be in deeper water. I shoulda trolled last night, but I had to quit by 11 and once I have lines down I have a hard time quitting. Casting I get tired eventually....trolling I can do for days. Besides my freezer has the 50 lbs of walleye ill need to make it to may. Id like a bit more for my parents, but I need a few deer more!! The pond side is an untapped resource for sure. Ill get an occasional fishing fix in the suquehanna as its almost time, but we don't eat walleyes from the river so its hard to get to excited about that. I know they are probably fine, but Tracy has put her foot down on that issue. Tim will have to provide the reports for us. justin Justin

Thought it might be fun to discuss some of what we learned this year good and bad. Fishing is expensive- things break, get lost, dropped overboard, planer board releases must be disposable, gear needs to be upgraded/fixed and if you want people to enjoy themselves with you you have to let it go...its only money and you have to accept this or it will ruin trips. There is no absolutes- no matter how "on pattern" you are everyday is different and things change fast...its good to have a plan, but a back up plan or plans is better Work your lines regularly- you cant sit idle dragging lures around...it keeps everyone busy and helps pass time while keeping you involved...its seldom possible to keep lines clean for long Don't assume your guests know how to work your gear even if they have their own CHECK YOUR TACKLE- leaders fray, split rings open, hooks get dull and straighten, drags can get tightened inadvertently, clickers need to be on, big fish test tackle! Try to tie all knots ahead of time, but if you have to re-rig better do it yourself Stay calm- I need to work on this, guests mistake your excitement, people can't follow direction when you are loud Fishing is always slow right until it isn't If you take kids regularly you will learn- nothing tests your ability to put fish in the boat better than having a child on the rod, there is a big difference between what will work for you and what will work with any guest A child leaving the dock with a baseball hat on doesn't always return to the dock with it Raingear is a must for EVERYONE Large, wake producing, boats will pass closest to you for no apparent reason whenever your riggers are up and you are trying to get lines out What makes a fishing spot yours is getting there first! Its not just about the fish It doesn't matter how many you caught yesterday If you talk to enough fisherman you will be misled The best lesson I learned this year is that if you are wondering if you better get off the lake due to weather you have already waited too long. No fish is worth it! This also applies if you are wondering if you should go out due to weather.... All fisherman are liars except you and I and I'm starting to wonder about you....lol I had great time this season on the water and on this forum glad I could get to know some of you and hope to get to know more of you in the future. IMy last boat trip will be Monday. Time to bring JUSTRACYTROLLING home for the winter. Thanks Tim for the coffee every morn and all the work you put in with me. Without your help I wouldn't have caught near as many fish. You are the hardest working fisherman I've fished with. Justin

I saw my first one on September 25th tioga county....several on our lease now.... justin

My son got a walleye on one of our big nights recently on a shadilicious with a swimbait hook no weight, but it was worthless after 1 fish. Ive actually brought my extra heavy st Croix musky rod with a lews superduty baitcaster and an umbrella rig with 5 4 1/2" shadilicious on jigs complete with spinnerblades on every arm and every head to try next time its ON, but it hasn't been on when ive brought it. I thought it would be neat to get 2 at once. If this ever works ill definitely get pics in the net. Shoulda took a net pic when we tripled and netted em together...I get in harvest mode and cameras are forgotten and tracy normally takes pics but even she was too caught up catching to even think about pics. justin

Brent, We were working some different areas last night, and really struggled. Had 1 tiger or walleye take my f18 bend the rod and cut me off, casted 1 off like an idiot, lost a fish, missed 3, and caught 1 little 21". The only highlight was a bonus 7 lb largemouth that we released. I saw you head out to the restaurant for a bit...anything working at all. We had very little chasing splashing etc that I normally see on a good night. Ill let tim tell you himself about his night, but let just say last night was not good. We talked after fishing and both felt it was too calm and bright for the eyes to come in and feed...shoulda trolled, but casting is what im working on right now. justin

The best way to fish the east side is the rip rap along the road above the marina or make a trip down midday and knock on some doors and ask permission. I ALWAYS bring Tracy or a younger child to ask. People want to see family oriented activities and often will give permission easier for you to fish with family rather than your buddy. Offer a portion of your catch and if you get into fish buy a little gift to say thank you. I have spots where I do this for hunting and fishing. Don't go ask at 8 at night with your fishing gear in hand...plan it out and do the work you might be surprised. If they say no be polite and check next year. I have a coyote hunting spot I love that took me 3 years of polite trips to visit before they gave me permission. Do your homework and get creative...ive seen guys carry a ladder to cross the cut in the causeway...not sure if that portion of the causeway is private but worth some research. Or get a boat.... justin

I like your idea and most of all you have increased the overall size and flash but still have a jig that can be fished nice n slow on the bottom....wont cost 10 bucks if you lose it either...lost 2 f18s last night...1 swiped by what must have been a beauty and 1 casted off like an idiot...still not happy with myself! justin

Thanks Ed! I know every Rapala size and color along with reef runners and a few more but the spoons are too much for me! lol I bet if I ever get a decent walleye or two on spoons my spoon knowledge will improve over night . justin
-
Fleettracker take a pic and post it as Im not a trout guy and don't know all those crazy colors and sizes. That's probably why I don't use them much just too many choices and my dogs cant pick spoons like kinger! Miss em gave me one he uses and I bought a couple more but about that time they quit working for him, but ill be running them next year just to see. We have lots of small browns too and a few big ones though I haven't tried to target them. justin

Fishing and hunting is who I am so for me the art on my walls is taxidermy. Tracy loves our mounts too so we will keep adding, but its not for everyone. Taxidermy preserves very special memories that we have together as a family. Everybody buys "stuff" to decorate the walls of their home I get mounts....and tend to believe they mean more to me than the stuff on the average walls with the exception of pictures. Im not one to show off taxidermy its really just for us to look at...probably silly to most people. Cant wait to get tracy,s tiger and her walleye from last week done! We have antlers all over the living room including on the coffee table lol. Im lucky Tracy loves em too! justin

Try some floaters too...Im 100% sold on the F18s in black and silver, but my goto fall trolling color is gold. I ordered a couple gold f18s but they aren't in yet. You can try the rip rap north of the marina and the park too. Its been a little slow last trip or two for us also, but the best is yet to come. justin
