  1. Great report Nick! Impressive fish across the board...you're really locked in! Nice to see it taken to the next level. justin
  2. Thank god the bite cooled and I got off the lake and had the boat taken care before the downpour began. I wouldn't have gone up but its hard not too when you get on a pattern. I couldn't be happier with my current setup and I owe to all of you who make posts and share their ideas and setups. Adding lead core and utilizing my riggers changed the game! justin
  3. Nice report sounds like a ball. Going out alone after muskies as it getting dark...I love the effort... justin

  5. Way to stay at it John and great fish! Im there several times a week and you earn every fish you catch there. Great report I can just tell how pumped you are...that's why I fish! justin
  6. Either sat or sun 8-10/8-11 is fine ill come for the weekend and maybe if we can all try to keep Saturday and Sunday open we could have 2 choices on the weather. I was hoping to come fri afternoon to Sunday weather permitting. Don't be afraid to post your ideas here this isn't my walleye LOU-ALL its OURS!!! justin
  7. My buddy Matt and I met Tim (rnsurfnturf) at the dock at 430 am and had lines down by 5. It was a rough slow start, but we were into them by 6. Boated 3 eyes, 19,21, and 25, 1 brown with a tiger bite mark, and a smb. Lost 1 nice eye, a td9 and 5 colors of core when the knot in the barrel to backing failed. I change leaders and retie a lot but never even look at that one before...lesson learned! Core hooked 2 eyes, boards took the biggest and tons of weeds, and riggers did the rest. We worked the wind, waves, and get off the lake before the heavy stuff came down. Guys did a great job and my new rubber coated musky net works awesome...no more tangled trebles! The consistency Im getting now is unreal combining big boards, riggers (thanks again Kevin), and the core. Gotta cover all the bases and have a full spread to really be able to find the suspended eyes. Its time to be on Otisco trolling for eyes!! I have a couple pics to post but my mobile LOU app isn't working right now. justin
  8. Im drooling! Nice report guys...ill be on the big water next year...love my pontoon for otisco trolling, but not suitable big water trolling Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Of course they are but the compound is completely different from a longbow and we get to hunt with them....todays compound is 80 percent let off and 360 fps...ever shoot a longbow....now thats real archery...im not saying crossbows arent easier...im saying whats it hurt you if someone else uses one Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I only open up 1 in 10 prob...and i havent noticed that, but im not sure if ive caught 100...only been fishing there 1 year Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. We shouldnt draw lines as sportsman and support each other. Bowhunters tend to think crossbows shouldn't be allowed, but most bowhunters dont use longbows or recurves and i dont hear them complaining when the rest of us use compounds. Legalize crossbows and let the sportsman pick his or her own challenge. Its not like there isnt enough deer to go around...btw i dont own a crossbow and have never shot one, but im not against anyone using them. Ill get mine either way...we should support hunting....period Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Im ok with the south shore launch unless someone knows of a midlake launch with camping...say 6am start...heaviest 3 fish limit or just heaviest walleye or both? They do $10 a boat for the cayuga lou all...im open to whatever you guys want im just looking to get as many of us involved as possible. Lets go fishing guys! Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. 2nd weekend in august is the plan then...now lets get some more people in! Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. jeff I love your effort, if you set up your yak to troll 2 rods on in line boards you can get both tigers and eyes, but if you are casting I cant help you much until fall or spring... Chris id suggest a real early start... last sunday I had a great early bite but it was over by 7...I had lines in at 515 and felt late...im camping in newark valley but I might be up there...if im out ill have the radio on 68....id stay in 50+ fow and fish 20-30 down with perch cranks at 3gps but im sure there is many ways to skin a cat just how I do it. Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Its tough to catch big eyes every trip I know ive been doing ok myself but I had a 3 day weekend zero and I was fishing hard. Thats why I love the 'eyes...keep the reports coming Kevin, and any chance we can get you down to oneida for a lou all walleye day? Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Went out last night and started with a 17" brown and ended up with only 2 walleye bites...a 20" and lost the other...both on riggers as the floating weeds made flatlines and core worthless...the bite was on I just couldnt keep baits clean. Thanks kevin id a had a zero without riggers... Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. The wait to check cams is killing me, but we are trying this year to stay off the hill as in the past once we start getting pics it just adds to the pressure. some rainy day soon tho Ill go take peek...ill have a couple shooters to post for sure. justin
  18. Ricochets are a product of bullet design and velocity. Rifle bullets designed to expand on whitetail sized game will expend their energy very quickly upon impact...therefore less ricochet...shotgun slugs are lower velocity and designed to go thru brush etc and have minimal expansion therefore more ricochets. The rifle is safer in my opinion , BUT they are dangerous for far greater distances so my fear would be unethical shots on the horizon...which obviously shouldn't be taken with any gun. Just my 2 cents and im a rifle guy so take it for what its worth. justin
  19. 1 good fish causes amnesia....Ive gone a couple days and finally get a big fish and next thing you know all the hours are forgotten and you make the whole weekend with the right bite. justin
  20. Always wondered how they did the netting...sure would be nice to have that job for the summer...bet those guys have some stories! Anybody got any more info on this? justin
  21. This quote should be mandatory reading around here!!! I encourage everyone to harvest fish, participate in the angler diaries and show the DEC that we are using our resources in order to promote more stockings. justin
  22. Well I spent over 20 years paddling a canoe from here to Minnesota for toothy critters and smb, and everywhere I went people just lied to me or misled me to protect "their" precious fish. So when I made the decision to get my first boat 1 year ago and concentrate on 1 lake I said I would always help others catch fish. Just look at Captain Larry Jones' posts. He is helping all of us with info, and he does this for a living. Many walleye guys wouldn't share 1 third of that info...draw your own conclusions. That's why I wanted a walleye LOU All to bring guys together. If the real pros (charter captains) can share we can too. If everybody all shows up on Otisco that'd be fine by me...ill still get a couple...I fish the Susquehanna a lot and Im not sharing as much info about it, as shore access is limited and some of the other regulars don't have boats. I don't have time to be an expert on Cayuga lake too, so I read what Billy V and few others have been doing right before I go and I do great everytime. Sharing works... justin
  23. The guys on this site are great help so keep after it you'll get into em. They make it seem easy when you read the posts, but you cant forget how experienced most of these guys are...most importantly congrats on the father son time its more important than the fish! justin
  24. Ive been getting some all season but for now I have em patterned and it really is easy...until it changes....Im getting my new net today and maybe a decent scale so then I can post some weights...we've had 4 over 27" and I think those were 8.5 to 9 pounds Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
