Sluggo, You are so close by you should definitely give it a try...cant believe the eyes can be any fatter anywhere! Gotta forget what you hear about otisco it's a fine fishery...you just have to be good at fishing for suspended eyes...any color will work as long as its perch! I included a pic of the belly fat...if any of you can make it tomorrow night and are trollers pm me. The bite doesnt last long...maybe 2 hours so you gotta have it dialed in...btw I Do! Throw away the pinch pads...blacks is the the only way to get the deep cranks down on the short leads AND get the rods bent down enough to get a hookset and take up slack. In fact I have lots of pinch pads n stackers if anybody is interested in them. Im heading back up in an hour or so...its on! Justin Sent from my SPH-L710 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Finished up around 11 with 3 eyes...19-22-23 all on perch rapalas down 30 over 55...biggest came on sr9 with rigger...gotta love the short setback...dropped 1 eye and had 4 browns...so much for otisco being anoxic below 20-25 feet...all the fish caught 2.8 to 3.3 gps Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

All of the large tigers weve caught (near 40 and up) have come from walleye trolling, and the smaller ones arent too bad to release if you leave them in the water...i agree with you, but wouldnt be much sense in having a boat and slip at otisco if i stayed home all summer. So we do our best to return them safely, and there is no way not to catch them. I worry more about them cutting me off and having a rapala stuck in them, but there isnt anyway to prevent it walleye fishing...if someone has a trick fill us in....but steel leaders is not something a walleye angler is very open to Justin Sent from my N9500 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I think august is probably best because once it gets past labor day weather becomes an issue and in fall a lot of us will be doing our serious fishing and hunting gets going earlier now too! That narrows it down to august 3-4 or 10-11 24-25. I vote either of the first two weekends before my son is back to college, but those 3 all can work for me. That's the spirit PAP...and if you don't have a boat you can join one of us...I have room, but we're gonna fish more than a little on my boat!! Ill be camping somewhere nearby as Ill have to pull the boat from Otisco and put her back on the way home. justin

South shore access area looks fine with me, and free sounds good. Some one throw a date out...we are the only group within LOU that doesn't really do this, the musky, trout and salmon, and bass guys all get together and fish. If you don't have someone to fish with pair up. We can do this...everybody has fished Oneida and I read lots of posts from you guys, so lets hear from you! justin

I have both a 25 watt boat unit and a 6 watt back up in my emergency box even though I stay on smaller water. They both are about the same money and Id recommend both especially on big water. justin

Well lets start talking dates and see where this goes. I think the only weekends I definitely cant make it are July 26-28, and August 16-18. As far as location goes Im not that familiar with any other launches on Oneida other than Oneida Shores, and something more midlake would be better for those of us with slower boats. Camping would be plus too, but Ill go anywhere. justin

Kevin, Wondered if you could post a pic of your homemade bottom bouncer? On Otisco we are fishing for suspended walleyes, but they do relate to points and presenting to those fish can be tricky as you can easily be dragging on the points. The depth changes very fast and goes from 50+ fow to just under 20 fow, and the fish are down at least 20. Currently I try to hit it just right so my outside line goes over the points without dragging...not easy but can be done. Id like to have something out in front of my shad raps and taildancers that would bounce them over so I can get in tighter. If I turn out at the last minute I miss the back side if I drag im done...covered in zebra mussels. I have lots of different bottom bouncers in different weights and don't need them to get the depth just to help pick up the lures. I could try to shorten my set back and add one of my lightest ones. Just wondered what yours look like, and if you think the walleyes are bothered by the weight just in front of your lure? justin

After reading the Cayuga LOU-All thread I was wondering if any other fellow LOU walleye hunters would be interested in having a similar get together? I realize that we are spread out a bit more, but Oneida is a central location and has numbers. Just throwing this out there please feel free to comment. I think it would be a great way meet new people and put faces with names, and a little friendly competition might be fun. Justin
