  1. CNY tackle is my go-to for all my needs. Ken is great to deal with and his pricing is fair across the board.
  2. I bet they still catch, but I chew! Lol Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. The unopened packages keep fine in a cool interior environment. Opening and shutting the tub bulk packs several times a day makes the juice begin to spoil then the package bakes till I use it again. Smells even worse than normal. The zip lock ones do the same thing. If I wasn't guiding I probably wouldn't care as much. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I rig several rods with a variety of choices and the one with the gulp dries out if you aren't casting it non stop. Or if you out run 10 minutes it dries out, and God forbid you leave it on a jig when you are done fishing you have to cut it off. Plus the gulp stinks! Gulp goes bad if it sits long periods of time. I buy huge amounts of everything I use so I don't run out and that's not an option with gulp. Don't get me wrong gulp flat out catches but the kitech is at least as good Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Great job Chad! Anyone fishing Otisco just bear in mind there is no map on the market that is close to accurate as it hasn't been mapped Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Progress for sure! It would be wonderful if everyone would follow the law and not fish for them. We may see a viable fishery eventually. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Now that is a successful hunt! Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I used it on the board my riggers are mounted to as well and its been very durable. Tracy has quite a glow on to go with the moon and the eye!
  9. Here is a pic...that's is the grey and it's closer to white. You can tint it
  10. You have to prime first and tape any seams with fiberglass. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Kiwi grip is what I put on my deck...you use a textured roller and you control how much traction you end up with. It is designed for boats specifically. I put the first coat on directionally with a notched trowel so it would clean a little easier. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Nice job Kevin! Something to be said for shooting em close to the truck! I've been so busy fishing I haven't been out, but tomorrow my son and I are making our first watches. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. While I've always liked gulp I've switched to kitech plastics for convenience and have had good results! Cheaper too Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. There's seems to be a bunch of decisions being made solely on the alewife trawls by a bunch of scientists when there isnt much science in the trawls themselves! No wonder they are making conservative decisions when you consider the minimal knowledge gained from these trawls. Then everyone speaks of the results of the ineffective trawls as if they are facts when really it's suspect data at best! Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Or the guys catching don't do diaries...or the diary guys can't catch or it's very difficult...trust me when I tell you most successful walleye anglers aren't gonna do a diary and aren't posting. There is nothing in that report that's gonna help anyone catch a walleye. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. My rule of thumb is if you feel unnerved in whatever condition you are in it's not worth it regardless if lake size OR boat size! Fishing should be relaxing and comfortable and if it's not pick a different day. Last night I had a father son walleye casting trip I postponed till tonight because of wind and rain, but I would definitely have fished it alone and been relaxed and comfortable...just not with a ten year old. Whoever is the operator of the vessel damn well should be making good safe smart decisions and not worrying about foolish pride or what other boats do...be safe! 17. Biologists aren't my go to for fishing research....I used to have the DEC do a talk on Otisco and walleye at my Lou get together and to say the don't have a clue on walleye fishing is an understatement. He asked way more than he answered! In fact the information he had was a regurgitation off the DEC website and they now have recanted nearly everything they published on Otisco.... just saying... 18. I love sight fishing walleye, and the only thing better is top water! Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I'd fish without sonar before I'd go with out side imaging Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Helix...if you troll lakes like Otisco or Oneida I'd have si and di. Buy the biggest screen you can afford and get the imaging! Imaging can help find and follow structure, but it's at its best for finding schools of bait and schools of game fish. Sonar doesn't hold a candle to the details imaging provides. 21. Big moon, big storm, big wind...all big factors...lol. In this case the bait size isn't related to fish size. On Otisco if you get into the right schools of fish they are all big. Get on a school of 3-4 lbers and they will take f18's no prob. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. 6 - 8 maybe...but honestly I'm not certain I didn't even put a graph on the boat. I knew exactly where I was gonna drop my Minn Kota talon. I was just crawling f18s over the weeds in the top 6" of water. Bite was very light especially considering the wind. Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Nothing better than perseverance paying off in nasty weather! Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Decided I had to fish this moon this morning so I came up for my first night casting trip of the fall and Otisco didn't let me down. Got set up by 10 and plugged away till the howling monsoon started near 2 with no results. About the time I figured it had to improve or I'm done they started chewing. We hooked over a dozen and kept 5. Left one spot open in our limit hoping for something over 10lbs but I didn't happen. I didn't throw anything but f18's. Hopefully this is the start of a good fall! Fish were all between 6 and 9 pounds. Gotta earn em here but it's unbelievably rewarding when you finally get things to work out!
  25. I definitely say BS! I guarantee he knew exactly what was going on, but go ahead and put him on a pedestal. His operation takes a huge illegal shortcut in order to raise profits at the expense of the outdoors...no matter how you look at it he isn't the great stand up guy you describe. The words I'd use would poacher, cheater, and greed! Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
