  1. The helix 9 g2 would be my recommendation for a sonar GPS unit close to $500. 7 inch screen is just too small...9 is plenty small if you split screen sonar and gps Sent from my E6810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. The new braid is thicker diameter. For the same ultra thin, ultra smooth line try seaguar smackdown in 20lb. It's not as cheap, but about the only other 20 lb braid that is .007. Seaguar products are all I use. Sent from my SM-G935V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Last I knew fishing was very good, but as far as walleye go its always fishing pretty easy comparatively. Can't imagine an August where there aren't walleye deep along the buoy line that can't be trolled.... Sent from my SM-G935V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Pawn shop is where landshark found his stuff...cops don't really look but he found the stuff himself.
  5. I was on the lake during the rain the night before and when we went in to dock it was chocolate milk and a mine field of debris....river cleared up surprisingly I guess...
  6. Got all of it smoked tonight while I was on the water and it turned out just like i remember! It's certainly not walleye but good nonetheless.
  7. Ive only had a couple opportunities this whole summer to get out for salmon and I can only go short notice so needless to say I haven't been able to make it work. Last week a group I had out found an opening with Irish Knots that miraculously worked with my schedule so we booked it. I wanted to say special thanks to Capt Chris Yard for getting us out last night with the awful weather. Still can't believe we dodged the weather and got on a good pick in pretty rough conditions. I know exactly how hard it is getting groups out in rough weather and providing a good time in those conditions. We ended up landing 3 fish and lost more than we caught. Here is a picture of my best salmon to date.... thanks chris!
  8. West side up to mid lake had great screens all morning but I got but 1...worst morning in a few weeks...cover water watch your graph... keep running the best screens till they bite or it's time to quit... yesterday I pulled a limit in no time once they turned on...trolled same fish for 4 hours till bingo triple! Never made a single change
  9. The blueprints are already out...the printers themselves are legal.... sounds like any criminal operation isn't going to be stopped with more legislation....
  10. I'd say it was your most successful trip in a while! Nice work!
  11. I'd start with a call to Cannon. I just replaced EVERYTHING in one of my mag 10's and with shipping the motor, switch, circuit breaker, and circuit board were only $150 total. Easy to deal with Cannon and easy to do yourself. If you want screwy Louie's to do it by appointment while you wait to save a trip its$100 just for labor! Absurd! Took me 15 minutes or so
  12. Ive fished my whole life ,but when I started learning to troll and fish lakes versus rivers I read everything there was on the forum that remotely pertained to what I was trying to learn....and believe me a lot of it would be hard to figure out completely on your own without tons of expensive mistakes.
  13. I could write a book on walleye fishing Otisco and the learning curve would still be steep. Best bet is to book a trip and learn first hand. There's multiple ways to troll, cast, and jig walleye here, and they all have there time and place. There is also literally over a thousand posts I've made on the topic here on this forum
  14. Glad you got into fish. Saturday afternoon to evening was a phenomenal walleye bite on the south end, and overall the fishing was stellar.
  15. The tigers we caught casting we're on lucky craft pointers, mepps 5, and a lucky craft gunfish for the topwater. Should be another decent weekend and water temps won't be too terrible, but anyone worried about a safe release just don't pick the fish out of the net...tigers are far more fragile than most realize.
  16. The only people that gun laws are written for are criminals who won't follow them anyways. Any terrorist who wants to commit an act of terror has plenty of options already and even if we make new laws they still will have infinite viable options. Not too mention the blueprints are out there already...once you fart you can't put the stink back in...guns don't kill people do and this isnt going to change!
  17. I've run them a few times but never caught a walleye. 1 decent tiger a couple years ago but that's it. Honestly, there isn't enough hours in the day to constantly try the "next new thing". I'm a rapala guy when it comes to walleye trolling.
  18. If you can handle a recliner on a pontoon boat you both are always welcome... seriously! I'm actually gonna go to left hand retrieve trolling reels as my right shoulder is in rough shape. My left has already been "rebuilt" so I figure it will solve the problem.
  19. Seeing anglers reactions to tigers makes it all worth it! Walleye are my passion, but I love guiding for tigers.
  20. Ive never had any taildancers with an issue. If you need any trolling lures I keep a couple hundred new in boxes to sell to people who want help. Tdd 9 will do the job with those setbacks...if you are using 11's shorten up to 65-75. The active fish are suspended so run the harnesses with a 1oz weight 6 feet in front of them with about 40-50 feet of line out at 1mph. Lots of ways to get down there....
  21. My favorite show! I know it's scripted but the fish are real their hard work is real, and Duffy will be missed on the show by me! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends....rip Duffy.
  22. Nice fish! Monday was definitely a good bite! We did 5 tigers casting and trolled 2 walleye and 2 big smallmouth on our way in at 2pm. I almost went back out by myself, but fishing 40 hours in 3 days I was too beat!
  23. Get off shore to start. How are you getting your harnesses down and what are you running for deep divers, what line, etc? If I know exactly what you have I can probably give you a "recipe". Big problem is always gonna be not enough rods to really cover your bases. If I don't have at least 6 rods in the water I know if the fish don't want what they did last trip I'm gonna struggle.
  24. Yes they are....harder to catch too! Not many fisheries produce 25 inch fish that can push 9 lbs.
  25. Flouro cuts much harder and the more line tension the easier line can be cut....I've had nicks 2-3 feet up but land the fish
